Rockies acquire Owen Miller from Brewers for Cash Considerations

  1. I don’t mind it. The dude hasn’t done much yet but if all we gave up is some of monforts money, then I don’t have an issue.

  2. Ah, a below replacement level veteran utility infielder who can’t hit lefties and thus can’t even be a short-side platoon option if someone gets hurt. I was starting to think this team had hit its head somewhere when they had a rookie like Schunk fill that role instead. Gotta keep that veteran presence locked in!

Add on: high likelihood that Miller is the 2025 IF version of 2024 Jake Cave. Hopefully with less than 350ish wasted PAs because someone got hurt and Buddy can’t fathom playing unproven and volatile rookies.

  3. OPS+ of 13 (100 is replacement level). Oof.

FWIW, he’s hit well in the minors, with a .362 lifetime OBP

  4. Great job filling these role players on the cheap so we can go out and get Cole or Snell.

  5. See how he looks in the spring and send him to Albuquerque. Can’t have too much defensive depth hanging around when Rodgers, or somebody else gets hurt.

  6. IF YOU DON’T LIKE THIS ~~SIGNING~~ ACQUISITION THEN YOU DON’T LIKE ROCKIES BASEBALL!!!

  7. I see what’s going on here. Rockies buying low again hoping for a return to a previous season. On brand.
