Day 7: Granderson started out ok, but turned into one of the most beloved Tigers. Who started great, but ended horribly?

  1. Mark Fidrych. As a rookie he went 19-9 with a 2.34 ERA and won rookie of the year. It was all downhill after that as injuries had a large part in derailing his career.

  2. Jordan Zimmerman. Absolutely stellar first month as a Tiger, then all of a sudden became one of the worst pitchers of all time.

  3. Michael Fulmer would be my pick

Thought dude was gonna be the next cy young after winning ROY. Could not have been more wrong

  4. Willie/Guillermo Hernandez. There is no other answer! From MVP/Cy Young/World Series Champ to being booed every outing.

  5. Carlos Guillen wasn’t really a stud but he was one of my Faves.

Also Rob Deer’s 2nd to Last season was pretty epic before the trade to the Red Sox

  6. This one is kind of hard to pick because every player declines as they age. My vote is Anibal Sanchez because the end of his time in Detroit was abysmal, and then it turned out he still had a bit left in the tank after he left

  7. Doyle Alexander. He was so good down the stretch in ’87… Then two decades of steadily growing regret.

  8. Chris Shelton. The best hitter on the planet in April ’06, and then he just kinda forgot how to hit a baseball.
