At this point, Raddysh would likely be more a productive forwards than any Girgenson, Atkinson, or Glendening. Hell, I’d be down to send one of those guys to the A and give someone else a shot on the 4th line.

The team has 1 extra forward and 1 extra defenseman. If 2 players are sitting out practice, the 2 extra have to fill in to complete the lines for practice. If there were 2 defensemen sitting out practice, Atkinson would have likely been on the 3rd pairing.
It’s practice! Calm down people.
Raddysh isn’t actually playing 3C, this is how they do line rushes when there’s an uneven number of defensemen and forwards. Paul is hurt, Point is coming back from an injury. No need to read to deep into these.
Practice lines with 2 forwards sitting out. It’s a good time to check things out while people are recovering.
