[Sidery]: Centers are the early buzz for teams gauging the trade market ahead of December 15th when new signings become eligible to be dealt. The big man market could be very robust as well: Jakob Poeltl, Nic Claxton, Deandre Ayton, Nikola Vucevic, Jonas Valanciunas, Robert Williams III.

  1. Based off the latest reporting, I think we are targeting Jonas.

Gabe/maybe plus Max Lewis or JHS and 2 seconds for Jonas is a deal that makes sense for both teams.

  2. IMO Out of those big man Robert Williams is the best fit and one of the cheaper options. We need a big that can actually hold up defensively when AD is off the floor. Jonas, Vuc, Ayton are terrible fits on defense and Claxton and Poeltl would cost us too much to acquire.

  3. I’d eliminate Vuc from this list — feels like all the reporting last few years is that Chicago really doesn’t want to trade w/ LAL

  4. are any of these guys on teams that Lakers have traded with in the past 2-3 seasons?

Could be an indicator of which the Lakers go for.

  5. Robert Williams is the best fit. Vuc for a low buy is interesting. Jonas feels most likely but best as a 15 min off the bench big that can rebound, give you some shooting and some paint scoring.

  6. Poeltl and Claxton probably too expensive.

Jonas and Robert Williams might be the most realistic targets for us. Jonas can help as a rebounder, while Williams is a much better defender but can be injury prone.

  7. Jonas is only real guy who you know what your going get and salary. Other salary too much, lack effort, injury, etc.

  8. I didn’t realize Poeltl is getting payed 19.5 M on top of having Masai as the GM hes almost unattianble. Looks like the only Center we could afford without giving up a 1st round is Jonas.

  9. Williams is too short and way too injury prone. He makes AD look like AC Green plus his defensive prowess is based on this athleticism which has to be near empty after all these injuries. Vuc and Jonas don’t have it defensively anymore. Poeltl would be perfect though cost would be too much. Claxton a bit too thin and also costing a bit: Ayton has the tools just not the dawg and brains.

  10. Claxton is the only guy on here that I think would put in the effort and stay durable through a playoff push but he is almost 100% too expensive

Robert Williams would be awesome I just don’t trust his health

  11. Yeah poor AD might have to play the 5 this season i fear. I get that jonas wouldnt be bad but i saw zubac cooking him yesterday so dont really see a point in getting him if he cant play against top teams

  12. Claxton is the dream scenario. Get a big to play off of AD and roam helping protect the paint. He can guard the perimeter too.

  13. Tough list. Williams and Claxton have the most potential but are risky. Personally I don’t want Vucevic at all, and not excited about Jonas either

  14. I really hope we get a deal done with brooklyn. They got players that can help us compete and we got players than can help them tank lol
