Can This Bruins Roster Score More? | Bruins Beat

Evan Marinofsky and Conor Ryan are back with another episode of Bruins Beat! Today, they discuss the Bruins suffering another tough loss on Black Friday, continuing a string of heartbreaking defeats. Despite generating plenty of chances, the team still struggles to score, which remains a major concern as the season progresses. One glaring issue is the power play, which ranks among the worst in the league—addressing that could go a long way toward boosting the offense.

Meanwhile, questions remain about Jeremy Swayman’s form, as he hasn’t quite looked like himself recently. The Bruins will need him to return to his previous high level of play if they’re going to turn things around and stay competitive in a tough Eastern Conference.

  1. Every team stars gets figured out look at Connor McD Olvy so yeah pasternak is no exception everyone will figure out how to play you and if you dont have any more in your arsenel forget it . your great success will last what 2 to 4 years tops.

  2. Can this Bruins roster score more?

Sure, if they could somehow… with their no cap space, crap farm system and limited big club roster actually turn some of those bad assets into real scoring talent via trades

Other than that, it's clear that the Bruins, since Sacco took over, aren't even trying to score anymore because

One, they even know their forward group and scoring talent overall is crap and two, they'e decided trying to win games 1-0 is their only chance of probably making the playoffs with this turd of an offensive roster

The effort and execution can and have been better since the change to Sacco at coach. Also true? They still can't score

The Bruins last ten games they've scored more than two goals only twice despite playing nothing but other crap NHL teams besides the Dallas game

If you take out the one good offensive (not defensive) game they had vs NYI where they scored 6 goals, in those other 9 games over the course of their last 10, they scored a whopping 13 goals for a craptastic 1.4 goals per game.

People they're playing DET, STL (2), CLB, OTT, UTH and dreadful PIT and they can't score on these miserable teams, instead, Sacco is trying to just not lose to these games in their clear effort to try and win games 1-0 every night

It's boring, lifeless hockey that will fail miserably versus the NHL's good teams as it can barely beat or even compete with the NHL's other bad teams like Boston right now

The Bruins stunk at 5x.5, their special teams stunk and they were .500 from January to May last year. What's changed? Um, nothing except they seem to have even less talent this year but the results have been basically the same

Instead of adding scoring, Sweeney adding backup goalies, more 4th liners and a $5M a year penalty machine. Yep, Elias Lindhollm too, but he regressed the last few years, both CGY and VAN said no thanks to long term marriages with him and how's he looked in Boston so far? Um, no bueno. It's not like that's 100% a surprise

There's nothing they can do that will fix these issues this year:

    2C as their 1C
    3C as their 2C

Geekie, Brazeau and a has scored one lousy 5×5 goal in his last 27 post season games, Colye in their Top 6 every night

Expecting all three of Coyle, Frederic, Zacha and Geekie all repeating the career years they had last year?

Speaking of those turds, you might want to look at Coyle, Frederic and Zacha's career post season stats… #vomit inducing

They have three guys playing defense most nights that actually aren't too good at playing defense in Lorhei, H. Lindholm and the $5M a year penalty machine, Nikita Zadorov

Horrible PK and PP with no real PP QB

There's also nothing in Providence that is going to alter their destiny offensively this year or probably for many years to come because their prospect pool is again, hot garbage

And trading away more 1st and 2nd round picks to add to this turd of a roster this year would be nothing short of malpractice

Fortunately for the Bruins, teams #9-#16 in the Eastern Conference are basically terrib le

Thus, if they stick with this beyond boring, trying not to lose approach they're using now under Sacco, they'll probably, just based upon the schedule alone, make the playoffs as a low seed still

Then they'll get their teeth kicked in early in the post season and Don Sweeney will have an end of year press conference where he'll tell the media how they've identified what's wrong and will fix it for the 10th year in a row, although nothing will actually get fixed

Instead, Sweeney will just watch the big club roster's talent erode further at the same rate that crap farm system he's built does

It is what it is at this point

  3. Well said.only good thing each game goaltending thats it.playing weak teams on the schedule cant win or score omg.wait to they play better teams omg 😢😢😢 😢😢😢

  4. Pasta is trash. I'm really sick and tired of watching him. Pasta makes $140,000.00 for every game he plays, and this is what he does for that. On the PP all he does is stand in the same area with his stick up, waiting for a pass to one-time. The problem is that EVERYONE knows where he is and what he's going to do. He telegraphs his shot forever. And when he has the puck on his stick, he just turns it over immediately. My god. We could get 2 or 3 REALLY good players that each have individual better numbers than Pasta. I can't express how happy I would be to see that muppet get traded away. There is no way the offense could get any worse than they are right now. This is rock bottom.

  5. What happened to that bumper play they used with Bergeron? Where Bergie would park himself in the slot and take a short pass from behind the net from Marchand or Pasta. It was a bang-bang play. Difficult to defend. They used it on the power play to give the other team something to think about instead of the Pasta one timer all the time. They're not using that set play.
