  1. If this is true this is a terrible trade for Anaheim. Giving up assets and eating all the cap hit for Trouba is stupid.

  2. No wonder we didn’t have a deal with him. We actually knew his value and wanted assets in return for that contract.

  3. Sounds like we dodged a bullet despite of ourselves…if we were willing to give up more than that only to be blocked by Trouba.

  4. I’m truly surprised the Rags aren’t sending back a decent pick. Can’t believe someone would give up assets for Trouba without a return.

  5. I would’ve taken Trouba and a first in exchange for future considerations, and then tried to flip him at the deadline or bought him out in the summer.

The fact that Anaheim gave up a player and pick for him is wild. They should’ve just let NY waive him and tried to get him. The ducks have Gudas, Trouba, and Johnston now, no idea why they need so many enforcer types. Verbeek is building such a weird team.

  6. Okay. We are definitely getting a decent draft pick for Provorov. Do not check my comment history.

  7. If this is what someone ended up paying I am so glad we didn’t “win” the Trouba sweepstakes.

    wtf was Waddell even offering?

  8. The return would be almost irrelveant, this had “Jeff Carter 2.0” written all over it.

    Bullet Dodged.
