[Hayes] For multiple days this week in Dallas, #MNTwins sources have been adamant they’re not trading Carlos Correa despite their payroll budget. It’s pretty easy to understand why.

  1. Ok yeah sure whatever you say “Dan” “Hayes” of “The Athletic” I’m going to listen to the reporters putting in the real legwork and telling you the side of the story Cheap Pohlad wants to keep under wraps (Ted)

  2. This is the statement teams usually put out before they pull the trigger on a trade. My guess is a couple of low end prospects that never materialize.

  3. Great news. If nothing else watching Correa make plays at SS gives me life bros. It sparks joy

  4. Besides the no-trade clause, the main question is: With the money you save, will you be able to get a collection of players which is better then Correa (especially in the playoffs). And I can’t say I think the answer is yes.

  5. Of the payroll is going to be 130m they cannot pay Correa 37m.

With the injury history and age working against him if they can get a good return they should jump on a deal.

  6. The team isn’t bad enough to trade Correa, they’re actually kind of good. They shouldn’t panic yet. At the trade deadline if the young guys (especially Lewis) are shitting the bed and the team is below 500 then I think they can think about trading Correa.

  7. My opinion baseball is getting out of had . This signing players and deferring money and these huge contracts only handed out by a handful of teams where a majority of teams don’t have the money to do that!! 1/3 of the league makes huge money the rest of the teams prob average half of the top 1/3 !!
