Did the Milwaukee Brewers Get Enough for Devin Williams from the Yankees?

1. Brewers had a top 5 bullpen without Devin last year in every major statistical category. Very happy with the move. It's great they didn't trade him midseason while they were 1st in the Central. Cortez All-Star 2 years ago and was injured last year. Durbin is a contact guru and a prolific base stealer who can play every position.

2. In defense of Cortez, Freeman was on a bit of a hot streak during the World Series.

4. Chuck (and everyone who follows him on this Podcast) needs to come to the reality that 3B will most likely be a platoon of Durbin/Ollie Dunn or Durbin/Tyler Black. They didn't trade for a 24 year old prospect to have him "not make the team". The Brewers will continue to be successful with elite defense, elite on-base percentage, and elite baserunning. I mean, last year Chuck didn't even have Joey Ortiz on the 3B radar, and the team was pretty damn successful with him there.

5. 5’6” !?! He’ll have to put hook shots up over 5’8” Frelick ! I am not too excited about this “trade”. $4.5 million cash hopefully will be used towards signing a third baseman with some power.

6. Chuck it’s time to wake up and stop saying insane things like we are competing for a World Series. We are not. In this current mlb and ownership we can not compete for a ring so stop trying to sell that. Start living in reality.

10. You said a lot of words about these new players but almost NO info. What were their statisttics over the years? What do the scouts say about them? Give us the hard info. Now I need to go search the internet to find out the actual news I can use.

11. For those that want to compete this is a good trade. Cortes over the last few years is on average more valuable than Devin Williams. Starters are more valuable than relievers so straight up the Brewers did get a deal because Cortes is more likely to produce more than WIlliams plus they received a prospect that has a chance to take over a starting role or an upgrade over Monasterio for the utility infield role. Of course an injury to either of these pitchers will make it a rather lopsided deal.

12. Yes, this move likely made the Brewers better, kind of insane that you would dimiss that. It's nice the Yankees have surplus starting pitching and the Brewers took advantage of it.

13. Another thing to mention about Durbin (since Chuck only talked about his height) .. he has NEVER once in a season struck out more than he walked. Elite plate skills. What an incredible stat that probably should be mentioned if we want to really discover if the Brewers got "enough for Devin Williams from the Yankees"

14. Cortze probably a rental. We know how players play on contract years. This might the move of the year. He going to pitch like a 2. Woodruff if healthy he a 1. Peralta he 3. Meyers 4. There 4 guys for the 5th starter. Plus they get there 3rd base covered. Big win for the brewers especially for the money they have to work with.
