  5. Big mistake, including Cam Smith in this deal. Shameful. Because of the Morel for Paredes deal, this is actually much worse. Essentially Cam Smith, Wesneski, Morel, Hunter Bigge and Ty Johnson for Tucker for 1 year. Absolutely ridiculous, Jed gets fleeced again. I am furious!

  8. This one is simple , if Kyle doesn't want to sign an extension. We offer him a generous fair offer , if he wants to test free agency we dump him at trade deadline deadline. Then we recover assets and still be in the hunt with the other teams.

  15. Cody got a contract after 130 games of great play. Then he played 130 last year. But broken ribs and fingers do not lend themselves to 30 dingers with the wind blowing in every day. If the Cubs are in it to win? They need assets. I would not say get rid of Cody and put Shaw at 3rd. Shaw and can play a little 3rd, a little 2nd, a little DH. Busch can play 3rd. Cody is our best man at first base. He is our 2nd best hitter as long as he has no broken ribs. Cody can also play CF and RF. Let's see in June if we need to trade Cody and Hoerner. Do we need a catcher? We have 4 of them right now. We need a pitcher and a closer. We do NOT need to lessen our team defense by getting rid of our two BEST defenders in Cody and NIco.

  21. Unless the Cubs make more moves, they are not contenders next year. I don’t see their cheap asses signing Tucker long term, so it is a pricey one year rental on building team that is not ready to win. Maybe they do more to make this seem reasonable, or shock me and pay Tucker.

    Tucker in his walk year is primed to mash, win now!
    Can Smith is a year maybe two years away and not a sure thing.
    But Tucker needs protection, sandwich his bat with Seiya and Belli

  24. I'd give Tuck 10/400 easily. I hope they make him a career Cubbie. With all the above average players, here's our difference maker. The Cubs have the good players to go around him and some top, and fun guys, coming up from the minors. Now is the time to go all in, and build that team for sustained success. Tucker as the face of your franchise is the way to do it.
