CubTalk Studios back at it
Im guessing either they do good with him and possibly try and extend him, or use him as a huge trade piece for a prospect hall to a contender.
Dude relax, Tucker has been a Cub maybe 24 hours and you’re whining that you don’t know what they’re going to do with him after next season. Yes Tucker is that superstar they badly needed, along with still another couple of pieces, but give them a chance to sit down with him and meet him face to face…you’ll get your answer soon enough.
Kris Bryant was my favorite. That team should've done more. Proud Cubs fan here. Got to see them destroy the Dodgers live in LA game 4 NLCS on the way to the WS win. 😎 Happy about the trade…!
Jed Hoyer and the front office’s goal is to spend the bare minimum that’s still good enough to barely get into the playoffs. They’re trying to take advantage of playing in a weak division by winning 85-89 games
Bro the way that they are starting to compete is by bringing in a star player which is what they’ve been missing the past 2 years. This move just proves that they are serious about competing next year and more moves are coming. You have to give up value to get value and there’s nothing saying they can’t keep him, ownership has iterated again and again that they are willing to spend on the right player. You are so pessimistic when it comes to every move this team makes and lowkey shit on them which makes me think you just aren’t a serious individual
Always love your content. Always factual and current….
Im an Astros fan. I kinda saw it coming the tucker wasn’t going to stay. It’s better to trade him for pieces rather than letting him walk
As a Cubs fan, I'm not sure what they're doing! If they don't resign Tucker ,then the trade was pointless. And they've never paid a player more than $200 million and it'll cost at least $300 million or more to keep him.
Before yesterday, I can't seem to recall the national media ever referring to Kyle as a superstar.
Fuck the cubs
Watch out for Paredes on the Stros. Wrigley might've be the worst possible fit for him and it'll be interesting to see what he does in Houston now
As a cubs fan, thank you for posting a video dedicated to us! As you said, we don’t have anyone on the team that is a superstar.
If we don’t resign Tucker, than all this was for a waste. We are a top 5 market team and it masked no sense how we can’t spend anything on free agency….
I was surprised that shota signed with us and can only hope roki sasaki does that same.
The Yankees will end up getting Kyle tucker in free agency and still have Luis Gil developing into an ace
Am I the only one that hates this move on the Astros side, you traded Tucker for a THIRD BASEMAN, and THIRD BASE PROSPECT when you’re still supposed to sign back BREGMAN?! Well not anymore the Astros are officially on the decline
maybe the plan is to sell tickets, since they dont really have a star, and if they fall out of contention, they could just trade him at the deadline and probably get more than they gave up for him. i dont think thats a bad plan at all
I think I'm the only one that saw that you said Cam Smith was the #1 draft pick not 1st round
He's not worth what they gave up? Let's examine what they gave up exactly: A 3rd baseman who CLEARLY did not want to be in Chicago, a pitcher who couldn't come into a game it seemed without giving up home runs, and an unproven prospect who's only played 32 games of professional ball. In other words, they gave up a whole lot of nothing for a perennial all-star. He's definitely worth what they gave up.
Kris Bryant has to be a top 5 Boras con job.
Cubs weak point last year wasn’t the offense. Sure it had points where it wasn’t clicking, but that happens to almost every team. The bullpen is what cost the Cubs last year. Their bullpen had I think 25 blown saves last year. If they save just 9 of those, they’re a 92 win team and in the playoffs. Kyle Tucker is a great add, but they need bullpen arms like yesterday.
They’ll never win again
Stoked as an Astros' fan. We weren't going to be able to extend Tuck, and I don't think we are contenders this year… happy we got a solid return rather than letting him walk.
Jesus loves you issac
Keep making these great vids
We need roki or Castillo
Why we talking like the Astros are a dynasty? 1 chip in 7 years ain’t a dynasty
It's a BIG get for the cubs with Tucker, even if it's a one year rental, he is an elite player in all of MLB. Would have been better if they held on to Paredes at 3B and been a scarier line up, but we'll see how they do.
As a Cub fan, I am also confused. One thing is clear. It is the Hoyer plan. And he is the only one who knows what that is. He is big into over promise/under deliver. Since they broke up the '16 core he's said the Cubs would be competitive – 4 years – '21/'22 pitiful. '23/'24 a step just above mediocrity… However, the Ricketts family has the purse strings so that is another factor. Go Cubs Go!
They have a clear plan from Aug 2021 :REBUILD
2022-2024 will be rebuilding, waiting for prospects to be ready while adding pieces to build a team.
2025-2026 getting ready to be in post season
2027-up: going all in for WS
2023 was a surprise year that Jed’s gamble paid off with Cody & Gomes.
2024 was a reality check year that both those came down to earth
But those two years also was not wasted that their many young players got ready: Steele, Wick, Assad, PCA, Amaya, Alzoly, and they added good pieces around them with contracts all ends at 2027 when they envisioned most their prospects will be all ready to blossom, which they can use boat load of cap space to go all in!!!
1. They want to win
2. They are good
3. They have no plan
4. They’ll never sign anyone for any sum beginning with a 3
