  1. Before stepping back on the ice these Bruins need to look in mirror and ask themselves IF THEY know what it means to wear that Spoked-B!!! Go out and prove it!! đŸ»đŸ’

  2. how pathetic is your team when a waiver wire reject from a team starving for goals is the hope to replace your 8 M per year, 8 goal per year free agent stiff ? sweeney created this mess. how can he possibly be the guy to fix it ? he won't stop screwing his team by signing multi year, multi million dollar busts.

  3. i think the word you were looking for to describe the Bs is " quit. " you didn't want to say it, but this team is full of quitters. they might play hard for a while, but they quit as soon as something goes wrong or someone punches them in the face. get a case of binkies for these guys.

  4. Oliver Wahlstrom is now the Boston Bruins best under 25 wing in their entire organization and that includes Fabian Lysell

Walhstrom’s combo of size, speed, puck handling, willingness to go to the dirty areas as well as his natural goal scoring acumen all equate to his having a higher ceiling than whatever Lysell’s may still be at the NHL level

Wahlstrom has his warts as his effort, consistency and attitude have all generally stunk since the day he came into the league

That being said, any Bruins fan can attest to the fact that under Don Sweeney some prospects simply haven’t been handled properly in terms of their development and in Wahlstrom’s case, that’s also been true
whether or not Wahlstrom can put it together and become the kind of Brady Tkachuk type of Top 6 forward he was projected to be when he was selected 11th back in 2018
.?

Who knows, probably not at this point but if he can just turn into a middle-six power forward that can score 30-40 points wouldn’t even that be a huge win for Boston right now?

However, no matter how you slice it or dice it Lysell looks like a potential bust and it’s starting to sure seem like even the Bruins don’t think Georgii Merkulov is a real NHL player

How do we know the Bruins aren't very much interested in Lysell or Merkulov?

Um, they just decided to burn what little Cap space they had adding an outside of the organization RW instead of bringing either Lysell or Merkulov up while they keep brining up turds like McLaughlin, Viel, Tufte, Patrick Brown..

By claiming Wahlstrom he has to be on their roster the rest of the year as well, so it's kind of obvious Lysell and Merkulov are fading as prospects, even in the Bruins own eyes. Proof? Um, this move

But even after those two, it’s a black hole in terms of Top 6 wings in their largely terrible NHL Farm System.

All they have at wing after Lysell & Merkulov are 3rd-7th round guys that all project, at their ceilings, as bottom 6 players

Maybe a 5th round long shot like Oscar Jellvik can put his skill set together and crack a Top 6 role but that’s literally it after an underwhelming Merkulov and a “heading towards bust status” Fabian Lysell

Riley Duran, Dans Locmelis, Trevor Kuntar, Cole Spicer, John Faranacci, Chris Pelosi, Ryan Walsh,……

These are the Bruins best Wing/Forward prospects behind Lysell and Merkulov (who knows what Dean Letorneau is at this point). And not a single one of those guys projects as a Top 6 anything at the NHL level assuming any of them make it

But before you get your hopes up for any of these Don Sweeney's 3rd-7th round forwards you might want to take a look at history.

Don Sweeney has made 37 3rd-7th round picks since he became GM back in 2015

The games played leaders at forward drafted by Don Sweeney in rounds 3-7?

-Lauko (83 NHL games) No longer with the team. 3rd round pick
-Steen (60 NHL games) No longer in the NHL. 6th round pick
-Koppanen (5 NHL games) No longer in the NHL. 5th round pick

So as of today not a single forward Don Sweeney has ever drafted in rounds 3-7 is on the Bruins presently and in 10 years as GM one forward drafted in rounds 3-7 (Lauko) is a real NHL guy. 1 out of 37. Not exactly a solid "hit" rate

Thus at the very least, adding a player in Oliver Wahlstrom, that has a rare combo of size/speed/skill/natural goal scoring ability, would be called a "good thing"

And if he turns out to continue to be a bust, well, Walhstrom would have just proven he’s really a Don Sweeney guy at the end of the day after all

    -Busted 1st round draft pick
-Played college hockey in New England

    Win-Win either way 🙂

I’m still not 100% sure if Wahlstrom being the Bruins best under 25 wing prospect now is something to celebrate?

    Or

If it’s just a further indictment on Don Sweeney's terrible drafting and developing that a guy another NHL team just threw in the garbage, that 30 other NHL teams passed on, is now your organization’s best wing prospect

    Tough call

  5. Oliver Wahlstrom??? He's a right winger. His "potential" talent is undeniable and, in addition, he's a player with an intimidating grinder attitude (well-asserted during his junior career). But since his arrival in the pros, not only has he not stood out but he has not shown the determination that was expected of him. Despite the fact that he is still very young (24 years old), the Islanders have given up. Wearing the BRUINS jersey, teammate of Marchy, Pasta and McAvoy, will he finally come out of his shell and actualize his potential?

I remain very skeptical… I still have the bad impression of a grotesque somersault number from GM Don.

Peter Chiarelli was a team "builder", Don Sweeney was content to plug gaps. The difference is huge… and in recent years, more obvious than ever.

I'm not changing my position: Owner Jacobs must immediately fire Neely and Sweeney.

  6. Team needs a major shake-em-up trade or 3. Too much complacency, laziness, low IQ lazy plays.
If these guys don't pick it up there are probably only 2 (if that) untouchables. Big decisions need to be made, and they aren't going to be
    prett

  7. Wahlstrom's lost a step and has had some bad luck in his career. Really hoping that he can rebound and collect what's left of his career and stick with the Bruins.
