Could Roki Sasaki join the Giants? A pitcher friendly park in a west coast – sounds fun.

  1. I’ve just completely given up on *not* getting my hopes up. I try to be completely jaded and pessimistic when it comes to whispers like this, but God damn it I just can’t. One of these days… one of these fucking days they’re gonna come through.

  2. I’d love to have him for a million reasons, but a big one of them is that it could make the Giants/dodgers rivalry bigger in Japan. I’m worried that all of the NPB players want to go to the dodgers because of Ohtani. However, I was huffing that copium last season when Ohtani was still deciding his team, and got burned bad. I’d rather not get my hopes up.

  3. Could you imagine getting Burnes and Roki, competing for a wildcard spot next year, and then landing Vlad Jr next year??

No way any of that happens, but it’s just nice to have hope again after the disaster Farhan brought to us.

  4. >Now, there’s another team that’s making its way into the conversation: the San Francisco Giants. According to an insider who spoke to Foul Territory, the Giants are becoming a *“very attractive landing spot for starting pitchers”*. And when you have a general manager like Buster Posey, who’s all-in on praising Sasaki, that certainly helps. The insider revealed, *“Buster Posey has been saying a lot of nice things about Roki Sasaki.”*

The internal discussions are that Posey has said nice things about him. Truly shocking information.

  5. Slusser on “Foul Territory” today implied Burnes was there for the taking, that “It’s in the hands of ownership”. Would think that’s the priority, but Sasaki’s price tag (or lack thereof) would be attractive as well. If he’s gonna be that cheap, why not both?

  6. The article then goes on to say that the White Sox could land him because they have the most bonus pool money. This is not serious journalism.

  7. I love what passes for “news” from sites like this. They say their “insider” revealed, *“Buster Posey has been saying a lot of nice things about Roki Sasaki.”*

Buster said nice things about Sasaki directly to the world. That’s not insider info. This isn’t news. Every team is going to try to be in on Sasaki, he costs almost nothing for an immense talent.

  8. I’ll believe it when it happens. Off Seasons are starting to stress me out and it’s almost Christmas.

  9. Think ownership would approve this signing AND Burnes? Obviously that would be incredible, but still not sure if they’d go for it. lol

  10. Roki should be the number one target. I think as of now SF is hands down the #1 pitchers park in MLB as well as having Chapman, Bailey, Lee and Adames on defense should be good selling points to any potential pitcher signing. I hear SF might not have as much international signing bonus money as most other teams which could be a problem.

  11. Farhan last seen with a wig and beard prowling around Oracle taking pictures and planting hidden mucs..
