Alex Cobb said that the tigers pitch was just different indicating they have better data and a good explanations for why a pitcher can come to Detroit and succeed. Maybe that combined with Maeda is enough to bring him in? The other top suitor/mid market team that seems the most fitting is Seattle which is closer to Japan and has ties with Ichiro still. But it would be such a get to have in Detroit.

I would love this, but the headline is just wrong—Sasaki’s agent said that a midmarket team *could* be a good destination. Sasaki has not expressed any preference.
I would love to see him as a Tiger but if he’s anything other than a Dodger or Padre I’ll be shocked.
I have a Topps NBP Roki rookie card I’ve been holding until he signs. I’ll gladly keep the card in my possession forever if he signs with Detroit.
