I get why he signed with the Diamondbacks because he's at home now. I would never fault him for that. Do you think that the organization still has scars from the Chris Davis signing? I mean the last time before that was Albert Belle and that hurt for quite a few years.
My favorite moment of 2024 was the walk-off win against the Yankees to end the first half of the season. I was in attendance with a group of family and friends and it was a crazy back and forth ending!
Another question, will John Means ever be back to his old phone?
As long as Elias has to do it his way the Os will never sign any big time player or pitcher and they will never see a world series as long as he is the gm
My favorite this year had to be taking my Phillies loving father in law to Camden Yards on fathers day and my Os crushed them. I had the only orange shirt in our section and the only smile😁
I've pivoted away from wanting a Dy;an Cease trade, and think Bryce Miller makes the most sense, he's young, talented. not arbitration elegible until 2026, and doesn't hit free agency until 2030.
Tejada was a 2000s top tier free agent signing.
I like that you’re a positive guy, but how can you say we’re the 4th best roster in the AL? Are you just projecting our lineup is the best version of themselves? Because I don’t see it
Orioles need starting pitcher go after Padres
How can you say we made a competitive offer and yet, we’ve no clue of the details 😂😂 c’mon champ
Money changes addresses. Corbin also posted a Dodgers WS meme on X after they won the World Series, so I think a lot of speculation about being at home. We know the giants missed out offering more money because they offered no opt-out
To compare Strasburg who was Mr.Glass his entire career is baffling imo
The biggest misnomer is you need an ace. I contend that you do not. You need a balanced club. How many World Series did Greg Maddux win? Or Pedro? Or Randy Johnson? Great pitchers do not automatically give you Series wins. A complete team gives you a better chance. Look at this years Dodgers. Pitching was injured by Series and still won. Yankees had Cole and lost.
Yeah, let’s trade our best first baseman and bring up Mayo l, another 40% k rate to go with Jackson, Cowser and O’Neil’s 30% k rate 😂
Elias is awful and gets far to much credit for the Astros run/s. The guy is literally a glorified scout
I feel they're scarred by Chris Davis and Ubaldo contracts. But ya gotta take risks.
No way Gunnar is worth more than Bobby Witt jr st this point of his career and he got just under 300 mill for eleven years. Not happening and it’s why it makes no sense to keep wasting these arbitration years and not signing solid pitching to make a run before they end up in LA, NY etc
New owners, same sad organization
Favorite 2024’ moment was Tony Taters hr vs the Dbacks at home to send us to extras and we got the dub 5-4.
The O's are not serious about winning the world series
sign Max for 1 year, trade for Pablo
My favorite moment had to be Santander’s grand slam walkoff against Houston.
Is Jim Palmer still around !!!!!
I am assuming that a trade for the Pirates Paul Skenes could never happen or at least would be at a cost the Orioles would not be willing to pay. But how about this trade. Orioles get either Jared Jones or Mitch Keller and David Bednar. The Pirates get Ryan Mountcastle, Heston Kjerstad, Cionel Pérez, and Ramón Urías.
If the Pirates are feeling generous, they could also throw in Henry Davis, who I have heard they are disappointed in and may be willing to move at a discount.
Thoughts?
Would you agree free agency ruined baseball? Before that players actually loved and contributed to their community.
My favorite moment was taking my son to Camden Yards. He's 2 and he managed to stay the whole game. It was also the game where Jackson Holliday came off the bench and hit the bases clearing double against the Astros. One of many memories that we'll create at the yard for years to come.
Same bottom of the barrel team long time fan that’s all that happens sorry for the truth but face it fan’s plus go nowhere manager lol
My favorite orioles moment was August 23rd being Camden yards to see Anthony santader hit the grand slam against the astros. The park was electric and it was amazing to see it.
Go sign a couple of mid tier starting pitchers for depth Andrew Heaney and Jakob Junis on short term deals for example. There is still a bunch of good reasonably priced RP out there. I don't blame the Orioles front office for not wanting to give big years to pitching.
My Fav moment of 2024 was Santander's grandslam! I was following the game on my phone and felt it coming, so I turned on the radio and BOOM!
Burnes, Rutchman, Henderson, Westburg and Santander were all All-stars in 2024, and no way will this team have 5 allstars again this year.
That happened due to the O's being a 1st place team going into the break. Unless they do something big soon this will be a 3rd place team. 🤦♂️
My favorite Oriole moment for 2024 was being in the stands for the very first “live” condiment race. Go ketchup!
Favorite moment their last game against Guardians in Cleveland. The 0's would never win when I went to Cleveland 😢. This time they scored 9 runs!! It might have been their last complete effort..
Let all these teams spend. I don't care! 0's would have won over 100 games easy without their injuries. We have winning records against A.L. East. Bring them on😂
Love the episode and outlook going into next year! Glad to see it's growing so much 🎉🎉🎉
I got to go to my first Orioles game this year all the way from Arkansas. It was the James McCann crazy hbp game (he's a stud, representing them Razorbacks!) and then the crazy rain delay. Definitely my fav moment
Love this sport and love the pod
Stop talking about getting rid of our prospects already! We have hardly had them that long! ALL of them will play<—- please shut up 😊
Favorite O’s moment of 24, Holiday’s grand slam 🧡
Favorite 2024 moment for me was taking my boy to the O'S game in Texas and him getting to see his favorite player Westburg go Yard
Thank you for your podcast, Connor. You have been near perfect. I'm not sure why you are willing to trade Kjerstadt; he's shown be a lot. I would think Mayo would be more likely. He could barely foul off a ball last year. Of course, I understand that his evaluation may be higher. I'd still prefer the O's keep Kjersadt.
My favorite Orioles memory from this year was seeing them beat the Yankees in person, at yankee stadium in September
My favorite Orioles moment this year was Cedric Mullins’s amazing diving catch against the Red Sox in September (and that may not have even been his best catch of the year!)
