And these aren’t changes that can be chalked up to chance, schedule, or circumstance. These previous 7 games would not be anything remotely like this without the change, and we would have lucked out to even be 2-4-1 in that span under Lalonde.
For the uninformed (me), can you tell me what the differences in coaching style are to make this big of an impact? I just don’t understand enough about the nuances of hockey to see the difference in the Red Wings play (other than the wins!!)
Team’s definitely been looking better but imma need a way larger sample size before putting any stock in these kinda stats
Lalonde really doubled down on that boring system and it cost him dearly. He could have tried to make changes but never did. Oh well, loving what I’m seeing now.

Can’t even count that one loss, in my opinion they’re 6-0 under McLellan

The fact that this graphic was made basically using the Different Strokes font is absolutely amusing me.
Newsy was draining the life out of this team with his repetitive messages and rigid systems. He had no passion or intensity.
New coach bump? Unsustainable pp? Time will tell. Looking forward to next 10.

100% a mental thing. All the players liked Newsy and some of them felt responsible for him getting fired. LGRW!!!!!!!
Still waiting for the honeymoon period to wear off /s
I don’t expect to go 100+ points but i am expecting a solid wildcard spot. This coach is playing to our strengths and letting the boys play fucking hockey. Defense has been pretty solid too. Love having Ed with MO those two are gonna be solid. Next season we need to throw some of those prospects in the mix. Stop waiting so long to have them jump into the big league, I know some people may disagree with that tho.
