  1. They should just cash out some picks to take a swing on underrated guys in the 23-27 age range. Guys like Sexton (26), Coby White (24), Ayo (25), and Deni (24) are players I think would be solid pieces to bridge the gap between keeping the team competitive and building towards a future. I mean Wiggins was about 25 when he was traded to the Dubs and had only gone to one playoff series prior. Any guys they draft at this point are unlikely to be serious impact players while Steph is active. While MDJ has been solid with his picks the question remains whether or not he has the eye/power to choose a homerun franchise type of talent because so far the FO has fumbled twice with a #2 and #7 pick.

The point is I much rather send out 2-3 frps if it’s for players who can at least contribute now and into the future. The hope of Giannis coming to the Bay or KD having his reunion with Steph is just not happening. If they have no appetite for Lavine, Ingram, or Butler then might as well target these value contracts even at the cost of an overpay in draft assets.

  2. Bout to get downvoted…let’s gooo

Zach is the move I’m hoping for on Feb 5th when a Schroder can be aggregated with other players in a trade. MDJ can trade Schroder, Buddy, SloMo, GP2, Looney for Zach and put the Warriors 6M (currently 300k) under the first apron. It sucks they missed out on a good deal in the summer at an all time low and may now cost them 1-2 FRPs, but it’s probably still worth it for Zach how’s he’s playing right now after surgery. He would immediately be our 2nd option offensively bringing some Much needed offense at the SG position reminiscent of Klay and Poole. I know he has a bad rep defensively but so did Wiggs, and to be fair he’s played on a young Wolves team and then on the Bulls. I think the culture and with dray and Wiggs on the floor he could become a serviceable defender with his speed and athleticism.

I know you will say “but we need vets”. Well, you’re swapping Schroder who has started his majority of games here at SG even though it’s clear he is best suited as the backup PG for an all-star SG in Zach. You’re trading away Buddy so Kerr doesn’t have the option to play him giving mins to Moody. SloMo doesn’t play but you have PF depth with Gui. It would be sad to see GP2 and Loon go but it must be done for this trade. Post, TJD, Loon all different, all have their flaws but you don’t need all 3, Loon is the odd man out. No player right now on the roster can replace GP2’s defensive impact and even though his he’s been shooting good from 3 recently you’re still giving up some shooting ability with him on the floor.

Lastly, you’re gonna ask how do we fill out the remaining 5 roster spots with only 6M. I’m not a CBA expert but from my understanding it can definitely be done with the right maneuvering. “If a player signs a minimum-salary contract after the regular season begins, he’ll earn a prorated portion of the amount.” “If the [team] had signed [player] using cap space or a cap exception, his salary wouldn’t necessarily have been prorated, but the minimum salary exception begins to prorate after the first day of the regular season.” Obviously you’re gonna sign Post, probably Pat too which is fine. Maybe you sign Knox since he’s been playing well in the G. But what you’re really hoping for is to a player or two in the buyout market. DLo, Ben, Bojan, Brogdon, etc. could possibly reach a buyout agreement but the real prize would be Lonzo. Suns/Lakers/Celtics/ Knicks/Wolves/ Bucks/Nuggets wouldn’t be able be able to sign him since they’re above the first apron. OKC/Cavs could. But maybe knowing Zach, the chance to play Steph/Dray, live in California, Celebrini magic, and the need for a backup PG after trading Schroder away, the Warriors would make a lot of sense as the favorites to land him IF he is bought out. I don’t think any team will trade for him giving his injury history and his contract is too large for the lakers to trade for since they are already looking to trade for a Center.

Just my thoughts. If your here, damn you read all that lmao

  3. I feel like the similarities of jk and steph are uncanny. 7th pick in the year of the ox, underappreciated in their early years (people will remember the steph vs monta debate before Ellis was shipped, kinda like the current debate around using jk as a trade piece) had a nasty ankle injury right before their first major rookie extension. I feel like the team believing in their youngster will once again payoff.

  4. If we can’t beat the Jazz comfortably Steph should take the post all star schedule off and rest till all his injuries are completely healed and we tank and see if we can get someone decent in the draft. It’s probably too late to chase the Flagg but as we’ve seen in recent years there are some real steals further down draft around the 15 to 25 spots though we haven’t had much luck in the draft picks lately

  5. I’ve reached a level of crazy where I’ve convinced myself Zion would be a good fit on this team.
