I thought they outplayed the caps significantly, but just couldn't find a way to get the pucks in the net they needed, a generational forward sure woulda helped there. Oh well. Fair ranking… Oilers looked kinda mid in the games they won, so it goes both ways, haha.

25. Wild had such a rough week I fully expected us to be in the third row. We really have to figure out how to win at home.

26. I don't get the Devils falling back to 16 after winning both their games this week. We beat Boston 5-1 and they're ranked 14th after looking much worse than The Devils. We beat the Canadiens who have a worse record and are ranked 10th. I personally think Devils should have stayed at 13 or moved up to 12 at the very least. Unless Markstrom getting injured your putting against them.

34. Thank you, Shannon, keep dropping the Kings. Every team is professional and the Kings have never been anything more than a third place team. And when the choke comes-and it's come every single year of their existence-they begin to drop like the Titanic! Also, any buildups given them from the press will find them choking!! So, I'll look forward to your returning them to the second row as soon as possible. Who knows, by March they might be back in familiar territory in the third row? The fans can't stop recommending various players be traded, dropped down, left sitting in the booth? <lol> The real question is why they were there in the first place. Of course, what do I know? The draft that still eats at me, we had 2 picks in the first round. Why didn't we trade up to get Bowen Byrum? Again, maybe I'm wrong…but I know what my senses tell me each season.

40. Kappo Kaako has made a big difference in the Kraken's game. Plus he has made Matty Benier's game really improve. Now if we could get the same for Wright!

41. how the heck are montreal in 10 you they got hammer by toronto and ottawa won against toronto and utah. colorado lost to boston but the beat colorado. toronto and colorado should switch and ottawa should switch with montreal

42. As a Kings fan I appreciate the apology. But, as you say we were all expecting the classic January slump.

43. Stats and VC

    Calgary is in the 8th spot = WC2.
    They are playing at a rate to get to 94 points.

    To get to 94 points, VC would have to play their final 34 games at a .617 win percentage. (42 points in 34 games)
    There are only 9 teams in the NHL winning at that rate.

    And if they somehow make WC2, they likely get WPG, EDM or VGK in the first round, none of whom they can beat with this year's team.

    My point?

    Jim and Pat should look to the future of VC and not get stupid trying to salvage 2024.

    And part of that future has to be, how does VC beat teams like VGK and EDM and COL and even LAK in the playoffs.
    Trying to be TML West would be a bad choice.

44. No way the Devils drop 3 after beating Montreal (while outplaying them for 55 minutes) and 5-1 against the Bruins. That is not correct THG. Probably stay around 10-12 but the in no world they are worse than the Bruins, Flames or Bluejackets and Canadiens right now.
