  1. Great leaders create leaders, not followers. They inspire, empower, and mentor others to think independently, take initiative, and step into leadership roles. Lions fans aren’t used to consistent winning or seeing our coaches get poached by other teams, but it’s a common reality across the NFL.

  2. I hope Kelvin Sheppard works out as DC and I know he’ll give it everything he has. But to not at least interview someone because you’re concerned that they’ll be in the mix for a head coach position in the next year or 2 is crazy. This team was considered to be a Super Bowl contender. You hire the best person for the job that you can get.

I’m not a fan of the John Morton hire (25+ years as a head coach with only one as an OC and fired after that one year, doesn’t inspire confidence), but it’s a done deal, I am a Lions fan and hope it works out.

  3. please people do not start whining about goff not being able to win a super bowl! he has all the tools needed to win. and just as important there is nobody available who could and even if there was the offense would probably have to change completely to fit the new qb and that would mean that it would take half the season at least for the offense to start jelling if not longer. so next season would be an even bigger disappointment.
