Hischier said on Thursday he doesn’t expect the injury to be as bad as the “week to week” prognosis seems, but that he’s taking extra precautions by staying out of the lineup now.

sounds like we dodged a bullet from this interview with Nico. seems it’s nothing long term and mostly just staying out for precautionary reasons.

    good news!

  2. I know we need him back in ASAP, but i think the best move is to hold him out through the 4 Nations break just to be sure

  3. Makes sense. If we were in the midst of a wildcard dog fight or something, MAYBE you think about gutting it out. But where we stand right now, things are likely to be pretty static until he is safe to return.

  4. It was nice to see him in photos at the sweep the deck event last night. Good to know he was fine for that, and really good timing schedule-wise right now. Definitely could have been much worse.

  5. YOU TAKE ALL THE GOD DAMN TIME YOU NEED, GOOD SIR!

And this is an ironic opportunity for the team to learn how to play solid hockey without him willing them, single-handedly, into victory night after night. Too many times, they’ve been passengers on his ship. If they can get cranking on a vibe that dominates even without him consistently, shit will be humming when he returns.

  6. Dude has been giving 200% all season long. I also wonder if part of the slump was him a little hurt and exhausted?

Either way, glad he’s getting some rest. Hope he’s back sooner than later.

  7. Probably at minimum has some badly bruised ribs my buddy went to the charity sweep the deck thing and said he was moving kinda stiffly. Hope he takes the time he needs.
