  1. This is a great trade for both sides! SJ get a late first round pick and a 4th maybe a 3rd if Dal makes the SC finals. Dallas gets even more forward depth and a solid defensemen that they need due to injuries. Smart moves from both sides. Yes it’s a rental for a a 1st and 4th but DAL has such a deep young core, Johnston, stank, Borque even Oscar beck has been really solid. W trade from both sides 🔥

  2. That first is gonna be a very late round pick in a notoriously weak draft after about the #15 spot. More than worth it for Granlund and Ceci as a 6th D.

  3. I wont be surprised if Mike Grier flips that 1st with another pick and a prospect to move up in rhe draft. He did that last year with Pittsburgh's 1st they got for karllson and Granlund and turned it from a #14 to #11 and picked up Sam Dickinson with it.

Those retention slots i believe will start getting free again at the end of next season with burns, then vlasic the next seaon, then karlson. They're set up to have a massive amount of cap space to pay their young core and have $$$ left over for a few mid/high level free agents.
