Only bringing it up because I noticed how lazy he was on this Dzone shift against Ottawa. I’ve been watching his goals against and there’s a lot where he’s literally just puck watching and ultimately leaves a shooter wide open.
the same argument could be made about forsberg honestly, i remember more than a couple times this season where he’s been caught puck watching and it’s resulted in a goal. they both have about the same +/- rating rn, i don’t think it’s fair to single stammer out.
The stars have been getting absolutely no support recently. Since Forsberg/Stamkos/Marchessault went through that hot streak where all 3 were scoring at a ppg rate, they’ve come back down to earth and the is exactly 0 depth scoring coming consistently. It’s understandable that their effort may be slacking a little bit. The season is all but mathematically over.
Looks like Skjei was too
As disappointing as it’s been honestly I don’t think Stammer should be getting too much blame. At 35 years old he is what he is. PP weapon and big team presence. Shouldn’t be playing C. Not really fair to expect much else especially as Brunette’s systems are not a fit.
