I made this point on another podcast: the chiefs may have a better team and better coach maybe than the commanders but in the 3 games we played vs the eagles we were much much much better than what the chiefs showed at the sb. Does that mean we coached better and have a better team than the chiefs? Food for thought. 13. Two foods for thought about the large amount of cap space. 1) We have a lot of space because we have 28 unrestricted agents and have to replace them 2) We deliberately have 28 FA because we were protecting the franchise, unlike the DT signings from last staff.
    There are a few FAs actually worth retaining; Wagner, Chinn, Mariota, Way, Fowler, Lucas, Ertz, Dyami, Bellore, Day, McNichols, Seibert/Gonzalez. Rodriquez I believe is restricted, so we can match if we want him back. With the possible exception of Mariota, they want to return, and that should help with the cost. No idea what a dozen players returning will cost, but I suspect we will have at least $50M for upgrades. Could we trade/cut/renegotiate retained players, and who? Renegotiate McLaurin, cut/trade Allen. I read where they could save $60M+ with several players. Of course players lost would need to be replaced, but Allen and Payne aren't much better than JAGs, and could be replaced if possible…upgrading dline the biggest priority.
