Good but not good enough.
Maverick McNealy narrowly missed out on this year’s Genesis Invitational victory and the $4million first-place purse that comes with being the champion.

McNealy fell to Ludvig Aberg, who made a mad dash up the leaderboard in the final round to claim first place.
Aberg finished at -12, while McNealy was left stranded a stroke behind.
McNealy played a brilliant final round, but not good enough to hold off Aberg.
Although a disappointing finish, McNealy can take solace knowing that he doesn’t exactly need the $4m.
He’ll be fine without it.
That’s because he is the heir to a $1billion empire.
McNealy’s father, Scott, is the co-founder of technology giant Sun Microsystems.
Oracle acquired McNealy’s company in 2010 for $7.4bn, thus putting the family’s net worth over the moon.
The only professional golfer richer than McNealy is Tiger Woods.
Rory McIlroy, Phil Mickelson and Jack Nicklaus are all behind the McNealy fortune totem pole.

McNealy, who won the RSM Classic in November, said: “It [second] is more than I could have asked for to start the day.
“It was one of those things where I got on a roll early and there were some gettable flags. When you get on a roll you just don’t want to get off it and I tried to keep it going as long as possible.
“I had a few poor shots and an unlucky break or two at the end but definitely had a few things go my way early in this round and it was just a ton of fun to be up there, to have a chance.
“Ludvig played awesome.”
The only question left for McNealy is how he will be leaving Torrey Pines.
When Tiger Woods left an interviewer annoyed with his cocky answer
If he’s exiting how he arrived, then it’s going to be in style.
All one has to do is look to the sky to find McNealy.
He flew his own private plane himself to the tournament at Torrey Pines in San Diego having earned his pilot license in 2023.
He spoke on his arrival and his life as a pilot, telling Golfweek on Saturday: “It was a really fun way to get here. Kind of unique for me on the PGA Tour.
“I’m going to use it a ton to get to La Quinta for better weather practice and up north to Tahoe in the summer when it gets too hot in Las Vegas.”
The PGA Tour heads south of the border this week for the 2025 Mexico Open at VidantaWorld.
Jake Knapp won the event last year while other recent champions include Tony Finau and Jon Rahm.
talkSPORT 2 will have live commentary from Vidanta Vallarta throughout the week.
