Colts should draft DB Jahdae Barron out of Texas at 14
February 20, 2025
Barron is a Swiss army knife that can be used anywhere as a DB. He's physical and is just the player the Colts need on D!

I’m a big fan of his, he’s one of my dudes in the first
I agree with this. I’m a huge Arizona State fan and he was a beast against us in the Peach Bowl. Would love to see him on our team!
If we want him, trade down. he’ll likely be available later on. My semi realistic (so no Travis Hunter or Abdul Carter) big board for the colts specifically is probably something like
1. Tyler Warren
2. Will Johnson
3. Malaki Starks
4. Colston Loveland
5. Benjamin Morrison
6. Shavon Revel
7. Jahdae Barron
Huge Kenny Moore vibes.
Tweeners kind of scare me. How does he compare to good DB tweeners like Jabrill Peppers?
No thank you
I know nothing about him except he is not a TE. I approve
If they don’t draft a tight end
We don’t need more defensive players. How about a couple new offensive players instead? New qb sounds great to me.

I’m a massive Longhorns fan. If we end up taking him, it will be the first Colts jersey I would buy since Manning in 09.
I would only be opposed to this choice if Will Johnson was still on the board. Other than that I wouldn’t be mad about this choice.
No, just no. Not what this franchise needs. If you want to continue mediocracy.
I would wait until he’s at least 18, unless he’s really that good.
I really want a DB or Jalon Walker. Tyler Warren is probably gonna be special but we need change on defense so mf bad. We also need cultural changes horrendously bad. Slightly biased cuz I’m a local lifer in Oregon but I am really hoping Indy grabs Jeffrey Bassa on day 2 to help change that. Plays hard af and is an excellent leader
A 3 way lockdown DB with team flexibility would love the pick. Should be able to play opposite of Brents immediately. If Brents is out can start as LCB where he played this season. If Moore is out is proven as NCB and has experience at SAF.
Reminds me of Lions Branch pick. Standout CB and great NCB. Same what to expect as Kenny’s future standout replacement. Got to add defenseman for our new DC. Why the Bengals failed on defense letting go both safeties prior season and downplay at DT losing Reader. Even the corners/LBs were susceptible this year. Something the Colts have to address and improve.
Don’t get me wrong, super talented, really like him as a prospect. I just don’t think he really fits on this team. While yes, our secondary needs work, I think safety should be our more pressing concern. I mean we had a guy playing with one arm.
Two, the future of our franchise relies on Anthony’s shoulders, why not get him as much help as you can by getting a tight end, who makes the offense more versatile, less obvious, and can actually catch some balls.
3. We all agree our linebacker play stunk much worse than our corner play did, why not get someone next to Zaire? We have no idea what Carlies is outside of a coverage guy who can’t stay healthy and Stuart is a fa. There’s dudes in this class who, may have lower upside then Barron, fill a NEED and can potentially be a long term piece.
4. Our o line is really up in the air, Braden smith? Will fries? Ryan Kelly? Glowinski was a mid season signing, and while he’s at best fine, he’s 32 and presumably past his prime. Danny Pinter another guy who’s fine at best. But with us trying to develop Anthony, and our offense relying so much on rushing, why go cb?
5Our defensive tackle depth is rough, whenever buck or Grover were out, our line just folded. Raekwon Davis, awful, taven Bryan, awful, adebawore barely played. We know buck specifically isn’t the pinnacle of health. And while yes, both are great, I don’t think it’s realistic to expect those guys to play 17 games and all snaps.
6. As much of a joke as it is, it could make sense to go edge. Kwity paye has been a bust, latu we don’t know if he can play at a high level yet. Dayo might leave after playing a ton of snaps, Ebukam is 29 and was on the backside of his career, and just suffered a torn Achilles, an injury which has killed plenty of players careers.
7. Why not go receiver, outside of our top 3, no one has solidified themselves. Mitchell was frankly awful this year, dulin is special teams only at this point. Like if we have two guys out, who plays?
8. Running back. John taylor is great, but injury prone, he’s averaging 3 missed games a year. Again, while great, John can’t catch or block well. When we put our backups in, it’s obvious the play we’re running and we don’t run it well.
9. Hell even qb, yes in this class it may be a reach, but outside of darnold and fields, this fa qb class sucks. I genuinely think there’s a case to be made that a.r is better than every other free agent qb. I may not agree with that case. But the case being there proves that’s a lack of competition meaning it’s a non starter. While probably a reach, why not get a lower ceiling high floor guy, who, when ar gets injured, can play well and efficient, compete with ar, and if ar busts, is young enough to buy some time.
Go kicker, Matt gay despite being from my favorite school sucks, (kidding on drafting a kicker round one, but at this point why not).
