Check out my scouting report on Cam Ward as well as thoughts on how he fits this Titans roster.

  1. Honestly, I don’t like the idea of taking a risk at first overall, especially at such an important position. If there’s a player there who you think is less of a risk you should take him.

  2. Desperatly drafting a qb because your team stinks and could upgrade qb is how you become the Jets or the Browns. Too bad we didnt have 1.01 last year or next year. Every season there is a *best qb* going into the draft, doesnt mean they should go first overall

  3. QBs are always a risky prospect.

Just look at the following top prospects who didn’t pan out:

    -Robert Griffin III
    -Zach Wilson
-Sam Darnold (I think 2024 was a mirage)
    -Jamies Winston
    -Sam Bradford

But also look at the ones who did:

    -Matt Stafford
    -Cam Newton
    -Andrew Luck
    -Baker Mayfield
    -Joe Burrow

So saying avoiding drafting a QB because it’s risky is inherently a stupid question.

Chance Warmack was the safest draft pick in that class and look how he turned out.

  4. You don’t blow a number one pick on a guy unless he has as close to sure thing on him as possible. Neither Cam nor Sanders have anything resembling that.

  5. I’m done listening to random evaluators, unless you’ve worked for a team and have had a decent career in the business working for a team, then I don’t care about your opinion

  6. Titans want an offensive weapon, and a shored up O-line. Seeing Latham is naturally RT and Skoronski is naturally LT. OG depth is on the scope for mid – late picks, maybe Hollin for extra OT depth as well. Either way, I don’t see Abdul being priority considering he is marginally ahead of peers with +2 games and moderate SOS, he is proven more as a cover than rusher anyway and we have decent coverage in the secondary already. Great chance at a round 2 Edge, ILB, and/or Safety depending on trades.

QBs: unless he just video reviewed and loved the playstyle, Borgonzi is going to pass on a QB pool that’s highest rated QB is 87. That be a slim to no chance 1st over-all fuck up for “elite” expectations of a first year GM.

DT- which we don’t need: if trades land us with 3rd pick maybe Alfred Collins.

WR- all beat out in yardage by a TE for goodness sakes, and have some combination of medical red flags, long speed deficient, reach deficient, burst/juke deficient, and SoS proofing needed. It’s the perfect storm for landing with another Burks.

CB- We have Sneed 74 million, Awuzie 34 million, and McCreary. It is not impossible to get Hunter if we trade out Sneed, but it is unlikely considering, even with the CB top production, Hunter doesn’t have that great of an impact over-all for team wins compared to his counterpart Skattebo who carried his team to first and play-offs with the safest form of offense (RB); while still only being ranked at best —2nd in the RB pool. Hunter most certainly isn’t doubling as a WR at NFL level, too much talent to practically pull for a dual position like WR. Given a weaker WR pool led by a lower rated QB pool it is hard to say where WRs truly land this draft, but it is safe to say teams that did the best had more wholesome defenses. *Ohio potentially had a generational WR Freshman-Smith, with an exceptional WR, {medical red flag} Egbuka.

I imagine Titans want the generational talent, which is Jeanty. Because Pollard ceiling has shown no-where close to Henry’s as a replacement, and Spear is likely to be cut at end of contract because he can’t heavy load a season without being high risk IR.

Next best option is Warren, checks all the boxes of TE, would have even higher production if it weren’t for the heavy PSU TE rotation. Was the only one able to receive in the ND Game (9 catches) vs his teammate receivers (0). Something to be said about making it happen…

OGs again can’t justify another 1st would do much in impacting over-all team game vs an offensive weapon.

LB/safety: Some prominent names with high chances of making elite status in NFL level. We could use a safety and at least one more LB, but at 1st over-all is quite a stretch for some defense which doesn’t really sell tickets.

  7. Team is gonna be shit until we get a good quarterback. Plain and simple. Multiple teams the last 5 years went from terrible to Super Bowl contenders right when they drafted a QB.

I don’t care about comparisons between this guy and that guy. Cam Ward is the best QB prospect in this draft, there is simply no other option but to get an incredible haul of picks or take him at 1.

  8. Every draft pick is a risky option, doubly so for quarterbacks, triply so for number one overall pick quarterbacks. Doesn’t mean you shouldn’t still take him if you think he’s a potential franchise guy

  9. The more I watch of Ward, the more I think drafting Ward is a huge mistake. Man he likes sitting in the pocket alot and will get killed in Tennessee doing that, feels like his internal clock is slow unless he likes his pre-snap read. He throws the ball from all over the place, which is pretty fun to watch but, he throws some really iffy balls trying to extend plays instead of throwing it away that give me Levis vibes. Dude is thick and has escaped pressured many times by just being hard to tackle, that said he doesn’t look very fast or twitchy but he will take what the defense gives him running wise. Overall he feels like a good college QB but I don’t see successful franchise changing QB. 0 star recruit out of high school, really just one outstanding year, seems extremely risky at 1.01. Just an arm chair scouting opinion, only watched Miami stuff so maybe when I get to washington state stuff I may like him better.

  10. He just screams Levis to me even looking at some of his highlights they should’ve been intercepted. Also, he did the play where he was getting taken down and flipped out to his tight end reminded me way too much of someone getting sacked and instead of eating the sack flipping it out to his running back and we know what happened there.

  11. I want to trade down and get Tyler Warren 44 Penn State TE and the best RT and RT to fix our offense line and get Stafford from Rams and use someone’s first round pick next year to get Taylen Green Arkansas quarterback.

  12. Ward had one of the lowest TO% in the country last season with only 7 interceptions and 3 turnovers. He had a higher % of fumbles in his earlier career, (career INT% is 1.5), but to mention is TO% and then completely omit how he had one of the best collegiate seasons in terms of turnovers last season is criminal. In 60 rush attempts and 454 pass attempts, he had a turnover rate of 1.9% with 10 total turnovers.

This is riskier than Will “I’ll let you have it” Levis? Bro, quit baiting for clicks…
