As soon as we learned that Snell signed with the Dodgers, it was great news. I know how gifted, exacting, and hard working he is. The more interviews with him I see, the more I go from just pleased about how he improves our metrics in the rotation to my also becoming excited about him as a teammate. Even with him admitting to not being gregarious or a social butterfly, he knows that getting to know his teammates better is a core aspect of why this Dodgers team is so great. It would be easy enough to dismiss the social aspect as important or not force himself to be working on it from day 1. Instead, knowing it’s both essential and something that he finds difficult, his tackling it early and often says so much about his character. Basically, he knows it is not what he likes, but it is something he must, and willingly will, do.
Yeah, these next 5 years with Blake are going to be great.
It's spring, sure. But Snell has a history of being very inefficient. 30 pitches for one inning, with so many hitters on 0-2, 1-2 counts. It is a bit maddening that he is such a slow starter. But at least he's healthy and his velo was solid.
I don't know about you, but Vassegh's question at 1:32 made me cringe.
