Chicago White Sox’s Will Venable and Chris Getz: The Potential Dynamic Duo?

The Athletic had another Chicago White Sox story. It was not involving the future control of the team. Instead, it focused on the process general manager Chris Getz used to hire Will Venable. In that piece, it provided insight into how these two could be the right leadership duo to get the team back to being competitive.

Then host Todd Welter goes off some early warning signs in spring training that the team could be set up for another historic losing season. Finally, it is Wayback Wednesday going over some of Todd’s favorite Opening Day starts.

  1. I just watched a Baseball Insiders show and although they do not have hope for the WhiteSox for this season, they were very high on their prospects etc., thus a successful rebuild up and running as early as 2027. Historic franchise, and what happened is a travesty. (I an a fan of another team but have watched and respected the WS since the early 70s).

  2. And if it helps, if I were a manager looking for a job, I think that it is still better to get in the White Sox basement than the basement team in the NL.
