  1. Shaun, we are still missing some talent due to the fact that Bergevin contract mismanagement. We are 5-6 points from a top 5 pick. Our 3rd and 4th lines will need to be revamped in the next 2-3 years/ I say go for the pick bolster the top 6 players

  2. Top 5 is very good this year, after that, there is a drop off from 6 to 11 or 12. For the record, my top 5, after many video vieweings and a few live ones is:

    1- Schaeffer
    2- Misa
    3- Frondell
    4- Desnoyer
    5- Hagens

My thoughts on Evans is the following: 1- Moving him can give guys like Beck and Florian Xhekaj some NHL experience. 2- Habs can also make themselves an option for teams that want to dump a contract to faciliate another deal. 3- Finally, i can see some teams placing players on waivers to either make room for an acquisition or a young player they want to graduate to the NHL to finish the season. A poor man's Evans can maybe be found that way.

At the end of the day, even if the Habs win a good deal of games, many teams are between them a spot in the playoffs. It's not impossible but it's unlikely.

I will say that if all the Habs can get for a Evans is a 3rd round pick, maybe i take it, but i would ask for a pick for the 2027 draft. The idea is to spread out the picks so that in the future, when Montreal entering their compete window, they have draft picks to move at the trade deadline, but i am not too worried, I think he get's a second round pick and maybe a 5th or 6th. A right-handed Center who kills penalties very well and who doesn't have a big contract can be a desirable acquisition for a contender.

  3. Kapinen, Heinamen and LAINE AND ROY. Where do fit a second rounder in 2026.

trade for a 2nd line pick is a poor decision. A 2nd liner need maturity and development. Evans, Beck, and Armia is a 4th line for the playoffs and the rebuild with shutdown and scoring ability among the best in the league. THEY CAN CREATE A RUN FOR THE PLAYOFFS OR SHUT DOWN TOP LINES AND SCORE.A long with having a player available to fill a injury. In a few years we replace BECK AS He matures to a top line. we may be a contender by then, you need a center because of injury. as is the 4th line is a Swiss army knife for a playoff run. Are we willing to abandon that for a second round pick…….. We got Suzuki Cole, Slaf, Demidov,. Hage. Anderson,… Dach, Kapinen, Heinamen and LAINE AND ROY. Where do fit a second rounder in 2026.

  9. Unless other teams really want Dach, Evans, Armia, Dvorak and possibly Savard…let's see what is offered at trade deadline. Habs are hovering around a playoff spot but keep your eyes on the prize. Plan for next year and don't give up key prospects just to get into playoffs this year.

  10. Give dach another year to see if we need to move him or not I’d put him with Anderson and gally play on a line with hustle and heart maybe they will teach him more to be a power forward style kapanen maybe on the fourth and leave beck on the second for now unless habs sign a good centre for the second line who knows but I’m excited

  11. One small problem. Not many contenders have a 1st this season. Only Vegas, Toronto, Washington, Carolina and Columbus are non-lottery teams with a 1st. If they package Armia and Evans and want a first, it'll have to be for 2026.

  12. Dach looks better as a winger ,Devo will probably go in the summer and Jake ? That’s 3 centers gone .
Who’s gonna play center next year ? A bunch of kids with no experience ?
I doubt Hugo wants to extend the rebuild another 5 years .
