6. I don’t pretend to understand why Mike Florio treats Brock Purdy like the waiter that kisses Mike’s wife over and over, like that old SNL skit with Adam Sandler. But I think I might have a guess. Brock took the 49ers to two NFC Championship Games and a Super Bowl his first two seasons and only had an “off” year in 2024 mostly because the team was in disarray. Brock’s numbers were actually still good though. But what have Mr. Florio’s Vikings done? Well, s—t the bed like Amber Heard before a trial date, with my apologies to Ms. Heard, and Johnny Depp. So it makes Mike jealous and he takes it out on a guy who’s actually very good and, might I add, if Brock were on the Vikings in 2024 the Vikings might’ve had a legit Super Bowl shot although the Eagles would’ve then crushed them. Meanwhile Sam Darnold looked like a deer at night on the highway in the small coastal town where I now live during those two late-season debacles. Just sayin’.

7. I think Derek Carr has underperformed in the NFL. I thought when he was drafted he looked terrific as he had a really good arm. Here’s the problem though. I’ve watched him on pressers and, how should I say? He doesn’t come across as a “mental giant” as I like to say. But I think it’s not his physical ability but rather mediocre brain skills.
