Pay Cut Was a Non-Starter for Harold Landry with Titans

  1. Yeah out of all the edges we are not taking Carter at first, with a questionable shoulder injury…Borgonzi wants to keep his job, first-overall for a IR mid season is prime way to find the door.

  2. So we cut him and get like $10 or $11 million in cap savings. We don’t get any edge anywhere near as good as him for that.

    I just don’t get it.

  3. Seems like this happened to multiple DL guys, I feel like I’ve seen an unusually high number of articles about DL guys given permission to find a trade.

He’s Bud Dupree. Great contain guy, extremely disciplined setting the edge which is important, but he’s getting paid pass rusher money. And he’s not a pass rusher. He’s overpaid-ish.

He’s a guy you overpay to put you over the top, not a guy you overpay to be your premier guy on the edge. This is just the “we won’t be extending you” confrontation, hopefully we can get some good value for him.
