Good on Matta. Liked him here, but we needed to alleviate the logjam.
He left so Johansson could fly.
Like to see it for him. He was good here in a sheltered role, but that’s probably all that you want him for. Don’t necessarily love the term, but Utah doesn’t have any impeding cap issues and Armstrong’s comments show he’s clearly valued off the ice in addition to on it, so I get it.
I’ve said before that Maatta is the picture of a solid depth defenseman and this contract reflects that, so good for him

Olli is a solid player and was never the problem here like with Holl, Petry, or Gus blowing games. It’s hard not to think about how much better we’d be with a Walman-Mo, Eddy-AlJo, Maatta-Chiarot. We’ll never know.
What’s the Maata with that? As a Maata of fact he’s a good defenseman. And that Maatas to me. Sorry I’m a new dad with dad jokes lol
