[Purple Row] What if Kris Bryant hit lead off instead?

  1. Yesterday’s game against the Reds was worrying. I know it’s spring training, and maybe just an off day, but the 2nd inning he accounted for 2 outs. The entire lineup batted after, scored five runs, then he’s goes back out and gets out again. He was able to cross home later in the game… on a triple hit by Estrada. We need solid consistency from him if he’s really just gonna DH.

  2. IT’S SPRING TRAINING FOR GOD’S SAKE. Before we get excited lets wait for opening day then we can be disappointed.

  3. He’s got degenerative disks in his back, he won’t ever be healthy. For his own sake he should retire and try to live a pain free life. The Rockies should also be suggesting he retires. I can’t for the life of me figure out why they are pretending he can be healthy again.

  4. Sure, I’m down to play the what if game, “what if he decided to retire “?

  5. Its time to lead him off to the door. He’s just a reminder of the ownership clutching onto something that’s just not there. If we’re going to believe in hope for this team give his ABs to Veen, or another young stud in need of XP

  6. I get that his contract is set in stone, and we’re paying for him no matter what. I also understand the Monforts just want to make money, and I’ve seen how many KB jerseys are at the stadium every time I go, so they want him to play for that reason.

But I really wish they’d let him just take a coaching style position, if he is unable to perform this season. Having a DH who hits for .220 is not winning baseball.

  7. If he plays 50 games this year I’ll be *shocked*. The dude is half dead, and even when he’s playing, he fucking *sucks*. Changing his position in the lineup isn’t going to do fuck-all about that.

  8. Then Bud Black would have to find a replacement leadoff hitter for 100 games.

  9. What if we built a Time Machine and never gave KB the most ridiculous contract imaginable?
