2. Wow. It's as if we watch sports but don't learn anything. I don't want to load up on free agents and trade acquisitions. That should only be reserved for a piece of two to get you over the hump. Don't want to be like the 2001 Redskins or the 2011 Eagles. And btw, I'm tired of winning the off season

4. I can't believe I'm about to say this but I agree with Carm. For me it's simple.. you HAVE to see Caleb unquestionably be THE GUY first. Not spurts. Not flashes. For a whole season… I need to see the Bears enter each and every week where not just you me and the avg bears fan but the general public thinking.. hmmm I think the bears will win this game. Not necessarily be the Vegas favorite but truly feel like we legitimately have a shot to win bc we have Caleb. You simply cannot make that statement right now. He's got the potential but he needs to prove it. I am a massive Caleb fan but to say that we, right now, can go into every game expecting to win is just not the truth. Washington, for example, can say and feel that way. If Caleb shows that this year and we make the playoffs, THEN you can add a 30 year old pass rusher who will demand 28-30 mil a year, not before. Could they make the trade and Caleb improves and it all works out? Of course. But it's an unnecessary risk at this point when this draft is as deep as it is at edge/DT. If they do make this trade and I'm the GM… I'm still taking an edge high. Idc. Let's have 3 guys that are dependable and that way if Tez or Trey go down, you have someone to step in that can play at a high level bc they'd be a top 40 pick. Bc that's one of my if not my biggest concern… They'd make this trade and then go okay we're good at edge and pass on edge class and then get old at edge really fast within 2 years.

10. How will the bears afford to pay Hendrickson, Crosby money, with $43m cap left? After the rookie salaries and retaining in season money, we dont have much left. The only way is to unload a contract like Sweat or Edmunds to make this work. I dont see Poles restructuring contracts but I could be wrong. We could cut Edmunds and save 15m but thats one of Poles biggest signings. Curious if he will do it since that admits he was a bad signing. If we do this, how will we sign a center? or the rest of the depth players?

14. On the Dalman trade – remember, the Bears can release Bates and save 4 mil right there. So 14-16 mil per year for 4 years is worth it if you truly want to solidify this line for the next 3-4 years.
    Concerning the Hendrickson conversation – I agree a 2nd will get it done. Market is flooded with good DE talent FA's this year, that helps reduce the price somewhat IMO.

19. Is Rank legit stupid? What does pick 10 have to do with Evan Engram?? In what way have the Bears done something shocking with their first round picks the past 3 years? What does Jeanty have to do with free agency? We lost Nick and get to listen to actual braindead takes from Rank once a week once instead. This is legit horrible.

27. Only guy I wanna see extended this year is Kyler Gordon, 4 year 52 mil, 20 guaranteed plus signing bonus. They will put money into Dalman long term cuz this center draft stinks and Zabel wont be there at 39 (maybe). Poles isn't waiting around for FA this year, cuz he prob got snubbed in years past, hence the trades before FA. There are plenty of vet edge guys to plug in this year, the center is paramount for the front office.

30. I get draft picks are valuable. But I'm sick of everyone who says you shouldn't deal a pick away for a top player.. who cares about #39.. is there any edge player better than Henrickson right now in the draft? No.. maybe in the future.. but maybe these players in the draft this year end up not so good.. the draft is literally like pulling straws. It's a crap shoot.. if the Bengals want a 2-3 Rd pick.. DO IT no question. If you are either drafting an edge or paying a FA edge, there's no better right now than Hendrickson. I'd offer the Bengals #39 and one of our 7th Rd picks then pay Hendrickson 2 years – 72 mil, 60 mil guaranteed.. simple restructure DJ Moore and save around 10 mil this season – use that for Hendrickson's cap hit this year with a Dalman signing. Picks no issue. Cash no issue.. Henrickson big issues for everyone else.. you do this deal in your sleep.
