1. The only consistent thing about Skinner this year is he lets in a goal in the first five shots like clockwork.

2. Skinner is a good/average goalie. He is just not a great/elite goalie that will steal games for you which is what a great goalie must do when the rest of the team is in a funk. Can he find that next level and be better? Stats are saying no, but let us hope he can.

13. There are 0 high caliber goalies available for next season. Samsonov has worse numbers than Skinner and hes available next year. Everyone says get a new goalie dont realize there is nothing available!

14. I've been saying this for the last 2 years but I'm the one who gets trashed on especially on this channel where it's filled with skinner glazers especially from gregor and tyler

15. The five man unit needs force opposition to release their shots sooner, otherwise he is predictable and lacks the reflexes to recover…. So that means being more deceptive in closing gaps and quickly….

They aren't at ease with either of them in the net right now, they know they need to score 4 at least to win the game and that alone is demoralizing, not to mention there is zero bail out, players are going to make giveaways and not every one should end uo in the back of our net and currently they do.
    It's bad.

17. It's inconceivable how any goalie could struggle on this team when 1) The defense is so tight and so consistent and 2) We have the best goalie coach in the history of the game under contract for the next 4000 years!! 🤧🤧

21. I'd say Stu needs to work on his lateral movement speed, and next, his rebound retention… the rest of his game is "ok"..

Everyone clamoring in the comments about "but you've been defending him all year" blah blah blah – when a dude is fully capable of doing the job, but is letting too many squeakers through, its very easy to get "too many mind" overthinking what you need to fix until you in full yips and cant tie your own skates.

    What we need to do as a fan base is stand behind Stu and give him all the confidence we can. At this point, no changes can be made to who is in net – so we need to give our full support to what we have.

    The media, and community around your team, telling you that you are a lost cause only fuels the yips. Sometimes, the thing a goalie needs most is to feel the confidence from the people around him. We have all seen peak Skinner. We know he can average out .900 or better. There were plenty of 2-1 games in the playoffs last year where he performed his best.

    I think Duby's message here of (paraphrasing) find one or two little things in your fundamentals to focus on, instead of the 100 things you could have done better, and gain your improvements where you can reasonably gain them is the right message. Something as simple as "squeeze the pads on every save so nothing trickles through" even on the super easy ones is where you "find that 1 save".

    Like in baseball where they teach you to always catch the ball with both hands – so you see the best in the world out there doing "more than they need to" to make catches.

23. Calm down. We’ve needed a goalie coach for years now. How many goalies do we go through before making the call for a new goalie coach?

24. Its not even the fact goals get past him. ITs his horrible style and movements. Last night vs Buffalo I was catching myself just staring at the TV thinking what the hell was Skinner doing! Like terrible! Flopping around, reckless, going down early on some shots and not going down on those he should. NO GLOVE HAND at all. I mean those he actually snipes a puck, not the shooter hitting the glove to be called greatness. He is just the worst moving big goalie I ever seen.

25. Well, to me the bottom line is Stu Skinner, at this point and time, is NOT an NHL Starting goalie. He's a backup. This whole thing falls on Holland and the signing of Jack Campbell. I never, ever liked it – I said before we even signed him DO NOT SIGN THAT GUY – he had one small run that was it. Toronto knew him better than us and they didn't want him. Skinner got thrown in the deep end too fast, and now he's struggling. I still say 1st round exit. If we play LA – LA will get their due against us.

26. Skinner has been Skinner since he was signed. I have been bitching about him since day one. Look at how he moves, he is not athletic. He let in the first shot 15 times last year including 4 times in the playoffs and game 7 of SCF! How many times does he let one in before the dixth shot. He handles the puck like a grenade! Need I go on? Geezus Blowman, wake up!

28. The man was ran out of Edmonton and was far better. Is it team defense or goalie coaching. Talbot another example. Bouch is on Zombie mode. Is he injured or checked out ? I expect to see better defense when Eckholm returns healthy.
