  1. Masterclass ….. dude paid his dues in Detroit and was ready to be an elite GM when Dallas gave him his shot . Has there ever been a 3 time winner of GM of the Year ? Jim is staring at 3 in a row …. Unreal .

  2. Still have a suspect blueline…cant wait til Avs-Stars 1st round. Id predict today the winner wins the West.Dallas should be excited to get Miko. But as an Av fan who works at them,& the Nuggets arena-Ill take our roster today ANYTIME over what we had before trading Miko. No chance we get Nelson,& Coyle without the cap savings in the Miko trade. And as great as Miko is-ill take Necas,(15pts in 14 games)Drury,& Nelson…even Necas,Drury,& Coyle-ALL DAY LONG ,over Miko alone. Mckinnon,Nelson,Coyle,& Drury. We go from top heavy,& thin at center to nobody in the west can match our talent, versatility & center depth on paper now. And bigger, more physical/gritty,& defensively capable. To me-Dallas is significantly better today,& WPG a bit better. But Colorado is only 1 of the 3 that addressed,& fixed to some degree-every major weakness.

WPG didn't get 2C-another huge part of getting Nelson is keeping him off WPG,& Minny. And Dallas still has a suspect,& thin blue line.BTW Heskinen is a huge injury,& Seguin somewhat significant. But Dallss,& WPG havent remotely had to deal with the injuries,& (suspensions)-that Colorado & Minnesota have this year. But the West is an absolute nightmare for sure. WPG,Dallas,Vegas, Edmonton,& even LA to a lesser degree-will all have something big to say about who wins the conference-as well as Colorado. Sorry Minnesota-you have an incredibly bright future but are too injured,& still a year away from true contention in my opinion. Guerin was actually smart not to do much this deadline. But the Wild should probably get in this year,& starting next year should be a major problem-when their cap hell ends,& with the young kids they have in their system.

St Louis,& Utah could also have bright futures,& still might get in this year. But like Calgary,& Vancouver-I cant see any of those teams with a legit shot to win the West this year. Its 5 team race in my opinion(WPG,Dallas, Colorado,Vegas,& Edmonton in some order)-& then maybe throw in LA,& Minnesota as super dark horses with an outside shot. But anybody else winning the West would be shocking. Although you can never say never in hockey. We all know injuries will play a major factor,& unlike the NBA-every team that makes the NHL playoffs does at least have an outside punchers shot to make a deep run. Thats not at all the case with every NBA team that gets in the playoffs/play in. But it should be exciting,& starts for me working today at Ball arena. Hockey night in Canada-Avs vs Leafs,& could be Nelson,& Coyles Avs debut…maybe Laughton & Carlo for Toronto?

  3. Jim Nill is the best GM in sports. And it's not even close. Pay this man whatever he wants Dallas, no questions asked.

  4. NHL Network needs help with the lines:

    Robertson-Hintz-Rantanen
    Marchment-Duchene-Granlund
    Benn-Johnston-Dadonov
    Steel-BΓ€ck-Bourque
