Aces are great up until they need TJ surgery and give you zero to very little production for the better part of two years. I like how Stearns is running things. No need to force the issue for an ace for the time being.

Tactical pitching a la LAD/Dave Roberts' deployment of arms is the new MLB model which Stearns, Mendoza & Hefner realize and have built with this METS pitching staff as-is…Fans are stuck in the old paradigm of starter, mid-relief, set-up relief & closer model…I estimate METS Team Pitching as-is will end up top 3 in MLB in 2025…p.s.
