  1. On that same day, Patrik Elias set a new Devils franchise record for the most career points, reaching his 702nd.

  2. My folks took my wife and I to what I think was the next home game after that, vs the Wild. I’d been kind of hoping we’d be the game at which he did it, but still happy to go.

  3. No goalie will ever mean as much to a franchise as Brodeur means to the devils. Anyone who tries to wave this accomplishment off as a “team accomplishment” don’t realize that players came and went, but the team was always Brodeur. There will never be a fan base lucky enough to witness one goalie play and win as many games as devils fans were lucky to do. Other legendary goalies have their accomplishments split across multiple teams, but brodeurs trophies and championships were all for the devils.

  4. Wife and I were at that game. Elias has always been my favorite Devil so I was happy to be there for his record too. We also just happened to go to the game where they gave out the 552 commemorative sticks.

  5. Did anyone in r/hockey even mention it’s the anniversary? But that Canes fan said the Devils are media darlings

  6. I was there. Has him sign my ticket at a signing event a few years later. So cool.

  7. My favorite Devils game of all time. I still have my 552 stick hanging in my office.

  8. Without the two lockouts he would’ve broken the record 2 maybe 3 seasons earlier
