If you don’t know Ivan Demidov yet… you will very soon. Demidov has been lighting it up in the KHL and is considered the best prospect in the world. Demidov is a highly skilled winger known for his silky hands, elite hockey IQ, and goal-scoring ability. He’s drawn comparisons to some of the league’s top Russian stars, and it’s easy to see why. Hopefully we will see Ivan Demidov play for the Montreal Canadiens soon.

  1. In the KHL this season, Ivan Demidov scored 19 goals in 64 games. He's not like other Russian Superstars: Pavel Bure, Sergei Fedorov or Alexander Mogilny. If he would have recorded 25+ goals in the Regular Season than it would be more convincing. I mean, 19 goals in 64 games is good, but not absolutely outstanding.

  2. I personally think demidov takes caufield's spot on pp1 to get a left shot in there and you also let caufield back into his sniper spot on pp2 balancing things out

  3. This is the guy I've been waiting to see put on the Habs jersey! Im not holding out hope to see him this year though, too many factors in play. His team going on a run in the playoffs, SKA demanding a ridiculous amount for his early release, the SKA juniors going all the way etc etc. That being said I'm so HYPED for this!

  4. If SKA isn't going to play him or demote him to the MHL. And not let him end his contract before May 31st. The Habs should still bring him over ASAP to be around the team and let him join practices. All the Habs centers could help him start working on taking faceoffs.

  5. Scratched because he won't sign a new khl contract..not going to play him in the playoffs either and won't take his money to let him go .must be deflating for teammates trying to win.their best player sitting because the coach, owner are that petty.

  6. Well Kucherov actually didn’t make an impact right away… He came in I believe 2 years after his draft year, And he played 52 games and only had 9 goals 9 assists 18 points that’s a pace of 28 points and he was 20 years old, He had that 65 point season afterwards… Kaprizov when he came in was in the KHL for almost 4-5 years something like that he developed for a long time, And came to the NHL at like 23 or 24 years old something like that… So you have to take that into consideration when saying “Demidov can make an immediate impact like Kaprizov and Kucherov”…. I absolutely love Demidov and I think he’s gonna be a STUD superstar, But don’t expect this guy to come on and have more than 60 points because that won’t happen. Even if he hits 60 that would be a big W. I think his second year is where we will really see Demidov breakout, It won’t take long but it won’t be right away.

  7. Demidov won’t be a center in the NHL. He’s gonna be a winger. Also I think the Habs want to keep that first line together which will put Demidov on the second line still getting big minutes and we will have Demidov and Laine on the wings and then our second line is almost set…

Dach is not a center, The Habs will go out and get a second line C, Probably trading Dach in the summer or at the deadline next season.

  8. Hudson…to Demidov…to Laine …snipe …goal
