  2. Awesome news! Moved down to Utah from Grand Forks, ND, where there are 11 indoor rinks, and 20+ outdoor rinks. I’d love to see the game grow in this area.

  3. Put some outdoor roller rinks in too for some summer games. That way kids can bring a stick to the court and play in shoes if they want. Hockey is an expensive sport for gear and not everyone can afford it.

  4. As a former rink manager, the costs are astronomical and high to maintain. The initial cost to build,and yes you can retro fit older buildings, but with the way things are going in USA not sure you are going city managers and mayors say “hey let’s build a 2 sheet arena!” It’s not exactly the most cost friendly sport! Hockey and figure skating while great for some recreation, is not economical long term.
