[Sasa Doncic] Luka Doncic’s dad: “Luka was born to be in Los Angeles. This city is made for him and it fits well with his character. I believe he’ll succeed here”

  1. People actually tried to convince themselves Luka won’t stay in LA.

I’ve said since day one that if you have visions of him playing with Jokic or Wemby or whoever else your favorite is, you should be prepared for the fact that it would happen on the Lakers. They don’t fuck up with guys at that level, Luka is staying for life. As a generational superstar there is no better situation than face of the Lakers. It virtually guarantees him he becomes a billionaire with how massive this will be for him.

  2. I mean Luka grow up in Madrid playing for Real Madrid, which is basically the Los Angeles Lakers of Europe (more for football, but still). He can for sure handle the pressure and lifestyle of LA for sure.

  3. “Don’t ask me about Dallas, if I speak I’m in big trouble. I prefer to not speak”

  4. In fairness, Luka was developed by Real Madrid, arguably the biggest club in the world.

  5. Mvps, chips, fmvps every foul call all at his fingertips if he stops whining at refs and pissing them off

  6. Honestly, I agree. Luka is one of the greatest showman in the NBA and he fits in LA almost like a glove.

I was feeling iffy about it at first but now I watch just as much Lakers games as I do Wolves it’s just that damn fun and exciting to watch. Reminds me of prime Steph Curry in that aspect.

  7. What’s up with the interview format? Why is the guest seated behind the desk while the host stands to the side, as if it’s the guest’s show lol

  8. Why oh why did it have to be the Lakers? Literally anyone else and I wouldn’t have minded.

  9. I have no doubt that Luka’s love of Dallas was sincere but… yeah. Unless you’re some kind of Neiman family scion or have to live within 150 miles of the family ranch that generated your wealth there is nothing to recommend Dallas over any city of roughly the same size.

An obscenely wealthy 20-something with a bit of a prima donna ego? Miami, New York or LA are your spiritual homes.

  10. LA’s biggest musical/artist right now, Kendrick Lamar, literally referenced Luka in a song. The city is already embracing him as their next big one.

If Luka wins a championship or two in LA the marketing potential is limitless

No offense to all other pro sports teams in LA but the Lakers are THE sports team in Los Angeles more so than the Rams, more so than the Kings, more so than the Dodgers

  11. I’m still unreasonably pissed on behalf of Mav fans. I don’t know how the fanbase will ever get over this lol
