  2. Pointless game for both eliminated clubs aside, I do love how the Pacific Division has two NHL franchises named after creatures of the depths.

San Jose, you better use Macklin Celebrini well.

  3. "The Seattle Kraken have fired head coach Dave Hakstol after three seasons, the team announced Monday. Hakstol, who was the first coach in the Kraken's short history, was dismissed after the team failed to make the playoffs after finishing with 100 points and advancing to the Western Conference semifinals last season. According to ESPN, the decision was made after a review of the season, with General Manager Ron Francis stating that they felt it was time to try a new voice. "

1 down year should not be enough to be fired unless there was more to the story. I would not have fired Dave Hakstol. Ron Francis should fire himself now for a new voice.

I remember when the Sharks fired GM Dean Lombardi after one down year only and I strongly believe that cost the sharks a cup win. The team would increase their point total for six straight seasons during his guidance, becoming only the second general manager in NHL history to accomplish the feat. I am just saying the team improved every year for 6 straight years and just had 1 down year and fired him was foolish.
