Pistons fans have the most to lose. If the Pistons get crushed by more than 20 points per game, Langdon can run it back with the same veterans and a big contract extension for Duren.
Making the playoffs two years in a row is enough for Trajan to a juicy extension. Then he will be stuck with Duren on a bad contract for a few years, but that is a problem for the future. Step one is to get paid.
In a close playoff series weaknesses will be exposed. Duren's bad defense will be hard to hide. The bad fit on offense between Duren and Ausar will be clear.
Exposing flaws in the team will give Langdon a reason to make the changes needed to take another step forward. Hopefully he will make the right choices.
Cade has the most to gain. Can’t call him a superstar yet, no playoff games or a series win.
Cade is already paid, Duren has the most to gain and lose.
