Devin Booker on why it was important for him to play last night: “It took a real Suns fan to be in there tonight… I pay respect to the person that it was either their first time or maybe their last time ever seeing me play.”

  1. ngl Book has actually come out looking pretty good lately with his interviews and answers, really respectable.

Hope he’ll have a chance to be on a competing team again at some point.

  2. I hate Booker. I hate him with a passion, but in all regards seems like a down to earth guy and a great person

  3. I really disliked him when he was all acting up when he had CP3, Ayton and twins in his team to sweep Jokic with Campazzo, Rivers and Will Barton, or when he was mocking Luka.

He got his ass handed to him from both of those players in the end, and has come a long way since then. Shame for all those groin injuries, because he really seemed like the closest thing to Kobe at one point.

Last game was a class act.

  4. This is probably the classiest answers I have heard from a pro athlete considering the circumstances. Hats off to Book for this

  5. I love this mentality and any team should want this type of dedication in the locker room. Always had respect for Book, I hope he gets another shot at a chip.

  6. The Olympics showed exactly what kind of player he is. Absolutely elite player in a team sport. The Suns struggling this season has little to do with Booker and a lot more to do with the fact that there are just a lot of good teams right now that are way better constructed. Swap any other star in the league with Booker and the results wouldn’t be very different.

  7. Good guy Book. I dare you nephews to keep hating him.

I hope the Suns can come around with him/for him. We will build him a statue.

  8. Not exactly the same, but I’m a Nuggets fan who got to the arena for two games this season. I saw the Bulls game where Jokic sat, and the Spurs game where literally every starter didn’t play (nor Wemby, who was still healthy when I bought the tickets).

I realize it wasn’t just random playing out the string, and that I was just very unlucky. But I appreciate Book recognizing that for a lot of fans, they only see a handful of live games, and being able to see the top players live is a big draw.

  9. I was literally this person on Tuesday. First time ever getting to see Booker play in person after years of wayching. I bought tickets to both back to back games to increase my chances. He played his ass off BOTH games and looked like the only Sun who really cared. I get why people hate and I’m not saying he’s perfect but for long time Suns fans he means a lot to us. Much love and appreciation.

  10. I respect him for that. And he’s right. Only the true fans would’ve came out for the last game on a lost, depressing season. And he could’ve easily load managed. But came out and tried to win. That’s the mentality of a winner and finding the light in the tunnel

  11. Sorry if this sounds corny, but that’s what the fuck it’s all about right there. Good shit Booker

  12. Book has been through so much shit with this organization, the highs and the lows. He gets a lot of shit from fans of other teams and y’all can say what you want but even if it didn’t work out he had KD, CP3 and Beal wanting to come to him and build something, that says a lot. I just hope our front office gets their shit together and stops fucking everything up, we still have time to build something fun at least with Book.

  13. I went to a Nets game on Thursday. I knew none of the starters other than Nic Claxton, but they were playing the Hawks. I am Aussie, and this was my first ever NBA Game, so to see Dyson Daniels in the lower bowl on decent-ish prices in NYC was great!

And, Quinn Snyder kept the starters in for a while even after the game was decided in the 1st. so I also got to see Risacher. It’s the little things that make your game experience amazing, so respect to Book.

  14. This man. deserved a better team and a better run organization. They’re wasting the best years of his career for nothing. It sucks even more because the Suns have a dope arena and a great fanbase. It’s being squandered by the people in charge.

  15. Love when players, especially star players, take this attitude. Might not be competing for anything related to the post season but fans are still paying to see a good game. And if you’re a star player there’s a good chance they’re paying to see you specifically.

  16. Booker will finish this season with 76/82 games played, one of his healthiest seasons in a while. Completely wasted. Smh

  17. Honestly for as much shit this guys teams have gone through he seems like a genuinely decent person. Half the videos I’ve ever seen of him were him doing something nice for fans. Fuck yea I’m a Dbook fan now

  18. Sometimes things just don’t work out. It happens. It’s not as easy as people think it is to win in the NBA. Even if you do, you still get fired or traded.
