CALL UP ELKO

  1. I am not onboard the Elko train yet because a 30-35% strikeout rate in the minors is going to make him look even more foolish in the majors. But I do understand giving Sosa some reps at 1b to free up infield spots for all the kids. At the very least, they need to move Vaughn out of the heart of the order if they’re gonna give him time to “warm up”

  2. So he’s not good and unlucky? That’s a really bad combination. Call up elko

  3. I don’t particularly care about whether or not they call up Elko, but even if Vaughn had his expected slugging percentage, that would make him around league average, I think.

  4. Just a bunch of “all true at the same time” statements to cut through a lot of the hyperbole

    – Andrew Vaughn has been tremendously unlucky as this shows. If he keeps hitting the ball hard, better results will follow.

    – It’s still not enough for him to be more than an average hitter and the Sox will need to aim higher in the future.

    – Tim Elko is a 26 year old borderline prospect. He likely isn’t the future at 1B anymore than Vaughn.

    – On a team as desperate for hitting as the Sox, they should give Elko a chance at some point in some capacity. Stop wasting the DH on Nick Maton.

    – The White Sox 1B of the future is either not in the organization or is currently playing another position.

  5. Remember in 2021 when we called up vaughn too early and wrecked any chance at development? Let’s not do that with the next guy

  6. Are you really not smart enough to figure out this actually suggests they should stick with Vaughn for right now?

  7. Isn’t this proving that you should stick with him since the luck should, theoretically, even out?

  8. this is literally showing that Vaughn has been extremely unlicky, not that he’s been bad. still wouldn’t mind giving Elko a look over someone like Maton though.

  9. Chicago native and Taft High School graduate, also White Sox fan, Jack Suwinski is number one in something at least
