Michael Carcone and Utah Going In Different Directions

  1. We’re gonna have a log jam of younger guys coming up here starting next season… It’s probably for the best. Let him walk in UFA, he’ll get a decent shot elsewhere. Best of luck to him going forward.

  2. He’s a great player, but not someone I’ll lose sleep over when he goes. Best of luck Carcone!

  3. Michael at times is an exciting player to watch. Love his speed and effort, best of luck to him if he goes!

  4. .36 PPG scorer that’s likely looking for term and a pay raise? Good luck bud, wish you the best in your next stop(s).

  5. That’s too bad I liked him. Wish it had been Maccelli instead, cheaper player for better performance.

  6. I’m still learning what stats to focus on with hockey but it doesn’t look like he meaningfully improved this season or even over the last couple years. Seems like a pretty easy decision from the team’s perspective.

  7. Carcone is a great story and I’m super happy hes got to this point in his career that he can shop himself. He always plays with intensity and has a pretty good shot. Realistically he’s just too old, small, and inconsistent to play on our 2nd/3rd line regularly so he may get a 3rd line or backup shot somewhere else on a rebuilding team. We just have too many assets up and coming.

  8. Honestly, I’m sad to lose any of these guys. I wish Carcone had gotten some more ice time, but I do hope he ends up on another team that lets him play more!

  9. From the post, for those who don’t want to support X

    >Michael Carcone on being a UFA:

“I love the guys in there, great group. I don’t think that’s going to be the answer, though. I don’t think we’re going to agree on anything. I spoke to the coaching staff and management and I think we’re going to go in different directions.”

  10. I had heard he didn’t want to be here early in the season. Respect to him for playing hard and being part of the team. Professional the whole time.

  11. I wish nothing but the best for Carcs. He deserves a good opportunity somewhere else as we have all this young forward talent coming up
