The NCAA transfer portal spring window opened this week, and it’s been busy. Three players entered from Virginia Tech immediately: redshirt freshman quarterback Davi Belfort, redshirt offensive lineman Web Davidson and redshirt sophomore center Caleb Nitta.

On Thursday, we learned of two more names. Twin brothers, Jayden and Jorden McDonald, are both entering the portal.

Here’s Jayden’s message on X:

After much prayer and discussion with my family, I’ve decided it will be best for me at this time to enter into the NCAA transfer portal with two years of eligibility remaining. Thank you to my teammates and my coaches for everything. Blacksburg will always be home, Go Hokies pic.twitter.com/YzdTMyESpi

Jayden is a redshirt senior with one year of eligibility remaining. In his four years with the Hokies, Jayden appeared in 25 games, recorded 50 tackles, including four for loss and one sack. Jayden McDonald is a 6-foot-4, 232-pound linebacker.

Jorden is a 6-foot-4, 248-pound defensive end who has appeared in 32 games, recording 11 tackles, including three for loss and 1.5 sacks. He also has one year of eligibility remaining.

The McDonald twins are from nearby powerhouse Salem High School, and both reported immediate offers from William & Mary upon entering the portal.

We wish the best to Jayden and Jorden in all of their future endeavors. Once a Hokie, always a Hokie.
