CEDAR RAPIDS, Iowa (KCRG) – Álvaro Folgueiras, the 2025 Horizon League Player of the Year with Robert Morris University, will transfer to Iowa, according to a report from Jonathan Givony of ESPN.
Folgueiras averaged 14.1 points, 9.1 rebounds, 3.2 assists, and 1.4 steals per game in his sophomore season for Robert Morris. The Colonials won both the Horizon League regular season and tournament championship.
Folgueiras shot 53.8 percent from the field, 41.3 percent from behind the arc, in the 2024-2025 season. He played 34 minutes, scoring 15 points, in the NCAA Tournament against Alabama.
Originally from Spain, Folgueiras went to DME Academy, the same prep school as Hawkeyes Kris and Keegan Murray.
Folguerias updated his Instagram page Sunday night with a profile photo in an Iowa jersey.
