Bottom line? Bruins fans don't trust Neely or Sweeney.
It's easy to pick after the fact. Let's have your 56 overall pick now.
I hope they trade swayman . He ain’t worth 8 and I think u play 2 of the 3 of korpi, Bussi, and dipiertro. Then use that 8 million for a top free agent . The ahl goalies have been really good and deserve an opportunity .
These 2 have to go
The sooner the better
Newly and Sweeny are the right team moving forward. If they are not and are fired they will be hired elsewhere in 15 minutes
Sweeney is a fine GM for sure. We want him let go at this point because of all the drama that's gone on the last year. Mr. Harvard can't even keep his emotions in check at a press conference. What is Charas new role I wonder?
They can talk all they want. They have no leadership
Nothing like going straight to commercial after an ad read lol
@6 mins you guys talk "why are we revisiting it".. maybe because half our comments everywhere are idiot fans talking about the draft. Do you guys even read comments and what fanbase says? Wild take.
Bruins have drafted bad for decades and it's because they think they're more clever than every body else. They draft these guys no one else rates that high and fail over and over.
DuPont made the point he didn’t do a good job drafting. Of course Neely isn’t going to let that go.
FIRE SWEENEY
Jacobs, Neely and Sweeney should just recycle the script they trot out every year to save everyone's time because it's always the same: They're bitterly disappointed in the season. They failed to reach the ultimate goal of winning a Cup. They feel fan frustrations.
Yet by some divine vision, Jacobs continues to gushingly profess public support for the same two who assembled the roster that failed to reach the ultimate goal they claim to dearly want to win, the same duo who's misjudgement created a club that spurred the deep fan frustrations they claim they hear.
Sonny Boy Jacobs must love having ashes thrown in his eyes by the President and GM so his vision of the club is skewed. That the B's have made the playoffs in 8 of the 10 years Sweeney has been at the wheel means nothing in terms of Sweeney's overall GM acumen because he INHERITED foundational players in Bergeron, Pasta, Marchand, Big Zee and Tuukka. Not his fault but he didn't draft any of them. The end result is no Cup. It's true the B's have had a good decade of regular season wins. Entering this season the Bruins had the second most regular season wins since 2015 behind only the Lightning. The top 10 clubs with the most regular season wins over that time are:
1.Tampa-514-Cups in 2020/2021
2. Bruins-496
3. Caps-494-Cup in 2018
4. Jets-468
5. Blues-467-Cup in 2019
6. Florida-465-Cup in 2024
7. NYR-464
8. Wild-462
9. Pens-461-Cups in 2016 and 2017
10. Avs-460-Cup in 2022
Sweeney and Neely have not been able to translate Boston's decade of regular season success into playoff success. Shouldn't that alone bring their leadership into serious question? Yet here they are again but this time on behalf one of the worst teams in the NHL, a situation of their own doing.
When results consistently miss the desired goal, there are two choices: change the goal or reconstruct the process. The Bruins are now forced to reconstruct the process because their previous mindset of bartering first round picks for an "all in" strategy didn't work.
Why should we have faith they can chart the next Bruins competitive window?
Marchand, Coyle, Carlo, Frederick, Brazeau. I think they already did "burn it down." We're creating a whole new identity, replacing multiple pieces. If what remains is the new core than I'd suggest they aren't prepared to fix anything because the major cracks in the foundation still remain.
Couple of points
1- easy to get defensive when you feel attacked. I don’t think it was their intention but they are human.
2- Drafting has not been awesome but still would rather have Sweeney than most of the others. Drury just got an extension. Really?
3- Nate Leaman is a guy to watch. National Champ from a NE dark horse school. Checks all the boxes.
4- l agree with your goalie take. I do think Sway is the real deal but he should earn starts like everyone else.
