I think Florida Panthers would not be happy to read this.

  1. Do we really count franchises that haven’t won a cup in so long their name is no longer on the Cup?

  2. Does this confirm last years’ Stanley Cup playoffs was just a fever dream for all of us? Or are we in a simulation here?

  3. AI models don’t have current up to date data to pull from. It’s like reading a publication encyclopedia of 2023 and expecting it to have info on events 2024. AI is encyclopedic of the internet at a certain point in time.

  4. The fact that it got one team wrong but the rest of them correctly is actually impressive to me. Its still not recommended to use AI for anything factual but this result is decent.

Try comparing it to actual hockey fans reciting those teams from memory, I would assume a lot of them wouldn’t got this close to a perfect result.

  5. Sometimes a reply like ‘are you sure about that’ will straighten it out

  6. The Toronto Maple Leafs haven’t won a Cup since the 1960s.

    Do they even exist anymore???

  7. If you asked AI after it answered you, it would’ve told you its answer was not accurate. It does that all the time. Go figure…

  8. AI hallucinates quite a bit and also uses old data sets because it’s faster for the LLMs to search those rather than more recent data.

  9. As an Oilers fan, I prefer this narrative. I might even be the AI that wrote it. (The parade was glorious by the way, right down Whyte avenue)

  10. Everyone talking about Florida being on the list while I’m over here cackling that it didn’t consider Utah an NHL team.

  11. Last night I had to figure out the name of a movie with my sister so I just asked Gemini about a movie with a blind asian and a lot of stairs.

Turns out it was John Wick chapter four. Sometimes AI delivers.
