2. Am I totally crazy or is the ESPN team biased in favor of Dallas with their live commentary during play? Or maybe their commentary is just so poor that it happens to fall that way without them even thinking about it. I’ve been saying if Landy comes back it’s in Denver. They’re also definitely considering he hasn’t played in years, and it could be detrimental to the team, so maybe they were also waiting to be 2-0, which didn’t happen.

13. glad to see dalllas win. the fans didn't give up on the team. There was so much energy when when they were down. Also pissed about the last few minutes of the slew foot in front of the net not called, while a holding/hooking call was made the other way on almost nothing. hey, but nothing to see here. I actually like both these teams, but I am gonna call bs when bs needs to be called.

14. Only way I can really fathom those "not a must win" comments are if they mean literally, like specifically elimination games are MUST win. Even then, it's silly.

15. This was a must-win game for Dallas and an unlikely hero stepped up.

18. I expect this to be a long series. Both of these teams are capable of being finalists. Unfortunately, there's always a first round matchup of teams you expect to see in a Conference Final or Stanley Cup Final. It's very often how an underdog team can go on a long run. One of the better teams on paper gets knocked out early and the other is banged up.

19. The first game was hard to watch, last night was also hard to watch as a stars fan. That being said the energy they gave me off of their energy in the final 8ish minutes of the 3rd and OT!!! It was a close game obviously but the last 15-20 min of playtime felt like stars domination. Thanks for the breakdown! Go Stars!!

21. That was a pretty impressive game for Dallas. Great to see a journeyman like Colin Blackwell score the winner in overtime, after being a healthy scratch in game one.

22. Stars' one obligatory win in this series. Colorado takes the next 3.

23. Before the series began I thought the only potential Colorado weakness would be in goal. Turns out that simply isn't the case. The Avs appear to have REALLY found a great young goaltender.

24. I think you’re being a bit hard on the espn broadcast. If I recall what they said was “it’s not a must win for Dallas but it’s the closest thing” which is just commentary covering their bases. If they had said straight up “oh it’s a must win for Dallas” then some knuckle head clips it on TikTok and all of a sudden when Dallas DOES come back after down 0-2 “announcer jinxes avalanche blah blah blah”. It’s just a nuance of today’s society. No one wants to be the guy on the clip that looks like a doof in hindsight.

    If I’m being totally honest I don’t think the commentary has been all that bad in any of the games. Sure there have been long silences at points. I actually prefer that bc I don’t need some know nothing TRYING to explain what’s happening to me. Outside of the female announcers and their lack of analysis I think it’s been fine. Not good. But not terrible either. Then again I’m watching the game not listening to them

25. That espn commentator was annoying me so much i changed the the home feed. What a game!

26. Id like to say we have a series. Next game will tell the tale. Dallas was finally due for a win after what a dozen losses.

27. Avs fan, glad to see the stars woke up for game 2. OT in this game was everything I've wanted this series to be (you know, without the stars win).

    That said, I'm getting really tired of Marchment flopping like a fish. There is no place for embellishment in the NHL

    Also props to Blackwell. No idea who he was heading into the series, and honestly this game, but he was noticeable.

28. As an avalanche fan that was a pretty fun game.

    This is not a dig at Dallas because I do believe they're a good team, but I think what we saw last night is the best that we will ever see out of them and frankly the Avalanche top 6 has been asleep for the last two games. If the avalanche have even two or three of their top six forwards wake up, this series is over. That's especially true for Cale who's been very quiet.

30. As usual the commentary was terrible. They spend too much time talking about the history of every single player every time they touch the puck and ignore the gameplay. I dont care who some guy played for seven years ago. It has nothing to do with the game which is currently being played. It is somewhat akin to saying "He had a dog named Scruffy when he was six years old" So what? It has nothing to do with what is currently happening on the ice. Do us a favour and either talk about the actual game which is being played RIGHT NOW, or just SHUT UP.
    I think if the Stars had Roberston and Heiskanen in the lineup the Avs would already be down 2-0. Losing Robertson in a meaningless game to end the season should A) be a lesson learned by Pete Deboer, and B) threw the Stars into a bit of turmoil at exactly the wrong time and they were forced to juggle the lines yet again.

31. I'm going to say it here because I need to get to bed. Just finished game 3. Avs made a mistake by trading Mikko. I know they didn't expect him to end up with Dallas, but the players they got aren't doing anything of that importance so far.

32. Pulling for Dallss Stars in this series against Colorado Avalanche. Colorado isnt a slouch of a team, but I want a team Shannon likes personally to make it to round 2 and maybe stanley cup.
